The Green Bay Packers star QB Jordan Love is in the news for his current contract talks. While he is signed through the 2024 season, his contract negotiations have sparked discussions regarding his one-year extension deal worth $13.5 million. The final decisions regarding it will follow up before the training camp. And amidst this, NFL Network analyst Chase Daniel gives insights into Love’s remarkable focus before the forthcoming season.
Daniel recently joined the guest host Tom Pelissero on the Rich Eisen Show to discuss the rising stock of Jordan Love. Daniel, who once had the opportunity to train with Jordan Love in the offseason, was in high praise for his work ethic.
Training under the renowned fitness guru Todd Durkin, who is also known to have trained NFL legends such as Drew Brees, Love is pushing himself to do his best. Daniel noted, “He probably seems to me more focused than anyone I’ve ever seen, including Drew Brees, going into a season with the unfinished look in his eye.” As Love has been following the guidance of Durkin since January 2024, the fitness program focuses on both physical and mental health to build solid resilience.

The ex-NFL QB, Chase Daniel, further goes on to talk about Love’s impressive statistics from the previous seasons, remarking, “You look at him really the last 10 games of the year, 70% completion, 2100 passing yards, 18 touchdowns, the biggest thing, only one interception,” clearly impressed with his phenomenal trajectory.

Daniel recalled the basketball pickup game they had as they trained together at San Diego. “We were playing like 60% speed,” Daniel humorously recalled, adding, “but I had to hit him with a turnaround jumper in his face for the game.”
Daniel holds Love in high regard, with hopes that he will continue to secure huge numbers in his upcoming seasons too, once the contract talks are finalized.

While Love has signed the one-year extension worth $13.5 million, all eyes are set on his contract talks. It may gather huge numbers, possibly around $50 million annually. The negotiations between Love and the Packers began in March, and they are patiently approaching it without a hard deadline, even though the training camp starts on July 22.
In his first season as the starting QB, Love led his team to the NFC Divisional Round. He completed 64.2% of his passes robustly for 4,159 yards, along with 32 touchdowns to 11 interceptions. Hence, Packers and his fans are hopeful that they could see a Super Bowl run in 2024. The talks about a $50 million annual contract is likely to reset the market for the QBs, as they are seeing a substantial hike in their salaries.
