Nothing is permanent! Particularly when you are a member of the highly competitive, ever-changing sports world. That’s how the NFL runs. And this time, the character whom everyone is eagerly watching is the Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders. Not only the rumors, but even the analysis of his game skills are widespread. Some believe he is a top 3 prospect, while some claim he might not even land in the top 10. The opinions are changing after the pro day.
FOX Sports analyst Jordan Schultz came up with revelations after the Buffs Pro Day on Friday, the 4th of April. He cited a top league executive who was impressed with college QB’s greatness. The analyst claimed, “I just think he throws a really catchable ball. Accuracy is one thing, but catch-ability is another. Shedeur’s got both. And watching him live today, there was more power — more velocity — than I expected.” Well, that makes him more exciting.

Regarding Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders, I asked a top-level executive who was at the Buffaloes’ Pro Day to describe what he saw:

Indeed, his numbers also prove this point. In 4 college seasons, he has an average 70.1% completion rate. Just last year, he had 74% completion with 353 of 477 passes. Compare this to the other top QB prospect, Cam Ward. He has an average 65% completion rate. His 2024 completion rate was 67.2%, completing 305 out of 454 passes.
The only issue with Shedeur Sanders seems to be his sense of pride that sometimes comes up as arrogance. It showed up when he declared at the NFL Combine that he wants to change the culture of the NFL team he might join. But it isn’t his fault. Teams have watched him on tape. They know where he comes from, the Sanders family. Still, they are taking their own sweet time.
While all these discussions are happening around the league, the Buffs’ QB is watching them silently. But on his Pro Day, he made sure to leave some mark again.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Shedeur Sanders the next big thing in the NFL, or just another overhyped college QB?

Shedeur Sanders gives a message to NFL teams
While the league people were excited after seeing him throw, he also had a message to the NFL franchises interested in him, the Browns and the Giants. He said, “If you’re a team that’s drafting a quarterback, you know who you want and let’s just get to the point,” urging them to sort out their priorities.

Both teams need a quarterback. But they are confused about the options available in the coming draft. If the Titans (1st) draft Cam Ward, they can still go with CB/WR Travis Hunter or DE Abdul Carter instead of a quarterback. The Browns (2nd) need a QB as they only have Kenny Pickett while Deshaun Watson is recovering from an Achilles heel injury. Shedeur Sanders is also confused, like millions of fans.
The Giants (3rd) have already perplexed everyone by signing Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson. Mr. Unlimited is a veteran who can start and lead. Will they still draft the college signal caller? There is a 50-50 chance. There are other teams as well that need a signal caller. The Raiders (6th) and the Steelers (21st). But his stock will have to tank steeply if he gets to those teams.
