It’s never a dull day in the NFL. From jaw-dropping games to nasty controversies, things keep happening. And sometimes, people just go overboard with things, especially when it involves a well-known figure. You make a silly mistake, and boom! Everyone’s ready to throw their opinions at you. Things barely go unnoticed in the NFL. And this time, it’s about Lions offensive tackle Penei Sewell.
In today’s episode of “What Happened in the NFL,” former Cowboys QB Tony Romo is under public scrutiny for spreading misinformation about a Lions player ahead of the Cowboys vs. Lions game. The former NFL player, who now works with CBS Sports, made a huge mistake during a live show. Fans were quick to catch it, and now X is filled with criticism directed at him. Tony mistakenly said, that Penei Sewell weighs 460 pounds, and it looks like fans are giving him a hard time while correcting him.

Well, that’s a genuine mistake on his part. Penei Sewell is an offensive tackle for the Lions. Sewell, who weighs 335 pounds, is rather an outstanding athlete. Of all the men who the Lions have to pull out from their den when needed, one is for sure Sewell. If the Lions are leading the NFC North, the Malaeimi native has a huge contribution to it. And maybe that’s the reason fans couldn’t handle it when Tony Romo, without any hesitation, made an incorrect statement. “My god #TonyRomo is the most annoying commentator anymore. Just shut the hell up #CHIvsDET “, wrote a user.
It looks like Romo has brought trouble on himself, as netizens call out CBS Sports to do better. “Did Tony Romo just claim Sewell is 460 pounds?”, commented in user in response to his mistake. Netizens aren’t letting him off the hook for this one. However, this isn’t the first time the former Cowboys QB has faced public scrutiny. People think the commentator is a bit too effusive in his praise of Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen. “Why does @#tonyromo keep bringing up #joshallen this agenda is real #Super Bowl.”
It looks like his broadcasting career isn’t going as he expected. Anyway, the Lions beat the Bears and continued their winning streak. Like the Chiefs, they too have a ticket to the playoffs now.
