With just 5 wins with 12 losses, the Chicago Bears arguably flopped this season. Caleb Williams was the No. 1 overall pick and the most popular candidate in the NFL draft 2024. However, still he found himself in a position similar to Titanic! In his first season, the quarterback was able to complete 351 out of 562 attempts for 3541 yards and 20 touchdowns. Although his rookie season per stats was a success, the team definitely went through an unforgettable season. Now that Williams is quite upset with the performance, his super senior Tom Brady has some valuable words for him.

On Wednesday, Tom Brady joined The Herd with Colin Cowherd to talk about his FOX stint, NFL as well as Caleb Williams – the player for whom TB12 has some valuable advice. During the discussion, the former NFL quarterback said, “I would say this for any player, and Caleb in particular, he’s a young player, there’s a lot of room for growth obviously. It’s really up to him to decide where he wants to spend his time and energy to become the player that he wants to be.

Wow! That’s great advice for a rookie QB, who especially had an unexpected season in the league. But the question is: how can this advice be implemented? Well, for it too, Tom Brady explained that to become a great player, you need to develop three key areas: physical, mental, and emotional. Hence, TB12 believes that each player has strengths and weaknesses. So success comes from working on those deficiencies while building on strengths.

Not only that, Tom Brady even reflected on his journey, explaining that while he had strong mental and emotional skills early on, he needed to improve physically. Hence, he focused on becoming a better pocket passer, enhancing his footwork, and building durability. Once his physical skills caught up to his mental and emotional strengths, he reached his full potential. And this is what can be done by 6’1” Caleb Williams.

In addition, Tom Brady emphasized that being a great NFL player requires a full-time commitment. Hence, the advice to Caleb Williams, and any player seeking greatness, is to know yourself, identify areas for improvement, and work relentlessly to maximize your potential. Probably, that’s what coach Ben Johnson is trying to do this time with the quarterback.

Ben Johnson is happy with Caleb Williams’s weaknesses?

The new Bears’s head coach, Ben Johnson, isn’t shying away from Caleb Williams’s flaws. In fact, he’s excited about them. Why? Well, according to the reports, Johnson is seeing potential in every gap, every stumble, every imperfection. For the new HC, it’s about celebrating Williams’s ability to thread impossible throws. In addition, it’s also about tackling the tough parts. So, that means the 38-year-old has caught the right string to amend. Don’t you think so?

During a talk with the media on Wednesday, Ben Johnson expressed, “What excites me as a coach and what I’m gonna challenge our coaching staff to do is to find weaknesses within their game that we can work to develop and highlight. Something I’ve been a part of in the past and will implement here is, each guy is gonna have an individual action plan of what he’s put on tape, how we can get certain elements better. That’s already something we’re working on with Caleb right now.

So, all in all, Johnson is creating action plans tailored to each player, especially his young quarterback, Caleb Williams. And in return, the rookie QB is also ready to learn from him. Let’s see how the 2025 season comes for them!
