The day when Tom Brady has been etched in the New England Patriots’ Hall of Fame finally arrived. The sold-out night at the Gillette Stadium saw star-studded appearances from the likes of Jay-Z, Jon Bon Jovi, comedian Bill Burr, and others. On this occasion, the current HC of the Patriots, Jerod Mayo, had a story to recall.

Apparently, Tom Brady once broke the former linebacker’s tooth and he’s demanding reparations now. It wasn’t out of malice, as Mayo recalled it. The Patriots just uploaded a video captioned, “@TomBrady gets realllll fired up@jerod_mayo51. As stated by the HC, “It obviously wasn’t a fight, but you’re not used to quarterbacks running around headbutting people. So, he walks up to me, I don’t have my mouthpiece in, chinstrap unbuckled, he headbutts me, split my tooth in half.”

Mayo further added, “I was so pissed, I had 18 tackles that day. He still owes me some veneers too. So if there’s any dentists in the room, I need a veneer paid for by Tom Brady.” The story touches on an unexpected interaction between the two Patriots stars.

Further, besides Mayo’s narration, the day is a special one for Tom Brady. The ceremony of his induction takes place on 06/12/2024, where 6 marks Brady’s Super Bowl Championships with the New England team and 12 is the infamous number engraved on his jersey. One of the most iconic jerseys in all of football indeed!

While the general criteria of having retired for at least five years remains important for HoF consideration, a career like Tom Brady’s demands an unconventional admission. Brady took the team to 13 AFC Championship games, and 9 Super Bowl appearances, not to mention took multiple pay cuts to adjust other players which makes him a true team player indeed.

Countless celebrities wanted to take part in celebrating Tom Brady’s astonishing career. Jay-Z performed his famous song, “Public Service Announcement” which was then followed by a monologue from the famous comedian, Bill Burr who roasted half of the QBs opponents, and teammates and it was nothing short of hilarious. Burr being there made sense as he’s also a Massachusetts native. But “it was not a roast, it was toast,” this time.

The event might have been a familiar affair for Brady because he was joined by countless supporters and most importantly, his family and kids. “It’s been nothing short of humbling and I can only express my love and gratitude for you guys [former teammates]. I don’t take it lightly,” Brady said on the red carpet.

The Hall of Famer went on to say, “It all started with him [Robert Kraft]. I walked in and saw his vision, and he’s the architect of it all. Along with great coaching, amazing players that drove me every day. That’s what we showed the world… when you believe in yourselves, you can achieve a lot.”

So, what’s next for Brady? He’s done everything he could for football, and he is ready to take the next big step. As many are familiar, Brady will be joining Fox as their top analyst and will be replacing the former Panthers TE Greg Olsen in the coming season. Retired from the gridiron, Brady still has a whole new world of football to look forward to.
