Tom Brady and the Super Bowl? Yeah, they go way back. The guy’s been in ten of them and walked away with seven rings—more than any franchise in NFL history. But this season? He’s back on the big stage… just not the way you’re used to seeing him. After signing a whopping 10-year deal with FOX, the NFL GOAT was on the mic as a FOX color commentator for the Super Bowl.

But, here’s the kicker: looks like he’s not getting any praise for his commentary in the biggest showdown of the season. And let’s be real—if Brady’s on the mic, you just know his legendary Super Bowl career is gonna find a way to sneak into the conversation. At one point, that feels kinda annoying to most of the fans. In addition to it, Brady wasn’t commenting on the Eagles’ secondary—at least, that’s what Joe DeCamara believes.

During the latest talk show on Sportsradio 94WIP with Jon Ritchie, DeCamara was annoyed with Brady during the Super Bowl TV broadcast. According to the radio personality, “He (Brady) did not highlight the phenomenal coverage by the Eagles’ secondary…He’s got to say the reason Mahomes can’t throw the ball in the first two seconds is no one is getting open on Cooper DeJean, Quinyon Mitchell and Darius Slay. And he never said it!”

Honestly, he’s not wrong. As per many NFL fans, the seven-time Super Bowl champion was accused of not adequately highlighting the tight coverage by the Eagles‘ defense. Yeah, the defense that basically dismantled Patrick Mahomes‘ strategy and restricted him from finding open receivers easily. The Eagles’ locked-in defense forced Mahomes to hold his place longer and guess what?

The QB got sacked left and right and even tossed an interception. And to top it off, Cooper DeJean turned one of those picks into a pick-six. The real kicker? DeCamara swears Brady just glossed over the Chiefs‘ offensive struggles like they never even happened.

Now, if we’re calling out his sloppy commentary, we can’t just ignore the blatant bias, can we? You see, as a FOX reporter, you are not allowed to express your love or hatred for any team. But Brady? Nah, he had other plans.

What’s your perspective on:

Did Tom Brady's bias as a commentator overshadow the Eagles' defensive brilliance during the Super Bowl?

Have an interesting take?

We all knew that Patrick Mahomes is a continuous part of a debate over the comparison with the NFL GOAT, right? Now as the Chiefs QB was nearing the unprecedented 3-peat that even Brady hasn’t done, fans accused him of being too cheerful at Mahomes’ failure. Long story short: the fans accused that Brady didn’t want the Chiefs to win.

Sure, it was his Super Bowl debut as a Fox reporter, but let’s be real. That wasn’t exactly an MVP performance.

Restrictions don’t affect Tom Brady

Tom Brady arguably retired as one of the greatest QBs who ever played the NFL. And he didn’t wait to enter the other gigs post-retirement. Now? Well, he’s a minority owner of the Raiders as well as an analyst for FOX. Now, here’s the catch: considering his dual roles in the league, the NFL has to implement some restrictions on the future Hall of Fame QB. But! But!! Those restrictions didn’t affect Brady as he’s looking for a successful broadcasting career.

Sure, being a minority owner along with an analyst, Brady has to do things differently. However, he’s grateful enough to have a solid team around him. “I’m sure everybody likes being a part of production meetings for a number of reasons,” Brady said. “I think the best part is people, is there’s just genuine relationships that get built up over time and a shared experience with people on your own crew. Maybe that is what I miss out on. Just the in-between time with KB (Kevin Burkhardt), Erin (Andrews), and Tom (Rinaldi), and Z (producer Richie Zyontz), and Ruse (director Rich Russo) and just talking about football.”

He further added, “I think from a research standpoint, I mean, I listen to press conferences all week. To me, there’s really no difference in a media member asking a question or a Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday press conference or a post-game press conference that would be any different from any of the questions that I would ask or the crew would ask. I think from my standpoint what I probably miss most is the genuine relationships that get built up. In terms of my research, I don’t think it has much effect at all.”

See, Brady is the only former NFL player who holds a minority ownership stake in an NFL team while also serving as a FOX broadcaster. And that dual role sometimes attracts criticism over potential conflicts of interest. Even the NFL commissioner Roger Goodell addressed his conflict of interest.

The kicker? Well, Goodell also stated that Brady often calls the league and asks if he’s doing ok. But let’s be real and see this from a different angle. Brady often calling the league and asking if he’s doing okay kinda seems far from normal. I mean, no other broadcaster has to call the NFL and ask the same, right?

But all in all, Tom Brady seems to gearing up for a long broadcasting career and he’s definitely unbothered by the restrictions on him.
