It’s all about the team. After giving his all as a quarterback in the league, Tom Brady is trying to fulfill his role as a Raiders minority-owner with the same dedication. He brought in Pete Carroll as the head coach. Together, they are trying to build the perfect roster. But will it start with the exit of their veteran players? As we stand just 7 days away from the 2025 draft on April 24 in Green Bay, the franchise is still weighing the options they have.

The first-round pick (15th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft, LT Kolton Miller, signed a 3-year, $54 million extension ($42 million guaranteed) through the 2025 season. But the team has not extended his contract or talked with him about it. This has forced the tackle to take drastic steps, which might worry Tom Brady.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that the LT is not participating in the voluntary offseason program. This becomes highly crucial as this is Pete Carroll’s first season. It is the time when the franchise prepares for the coming season and adjusts to the changing O-line. In 109 games (107 started) in 7 seasons, Kolton Miller has played 6,942 snaps. He has also recorded 28 penalties overall. Last year, Pro Football Focus ranked him as the 14th-best tackle in the league. So, Tom Brady has a bigger decision to make. They want to have a season that turns around the franchise.

While the Raiders are sleeping on the veteran starter, another offensive player who is currently a free agent might soon receive an offer from them.

Tom Brady & co. might target 6-time Pro Bowl WR

Pro Football & Sports Network’s Mark Stolte claimed that Tom Brady and co. can target 6-time Pro Bowler WR Keenan Allen. If that happens, it would be a big signing and an attempt to change his recent fortunes with the LA Chargers and Chicago Bears, who are reportedly holding off on a decision until after the draft.

The analyst wrote, “The Las Vegas Raiders need to surround Geno Smith with some wide receiver talent quickly. Keenan Allen did not look the part last season in Chicago, but a veteran quarterback and a new change of scenery could certainly help get him back on track.”

What’s your perspective on:

Is Tom Brady's Raiders ownership already facing its first major test with Kolton Miller's contract standoff?

The receiver will be 33 years old when the 2025 season starts. In 12 seasons, he has played 154 (149 started) and recorded 974 receptions for 11,274 receiving yards and 66 touchdowns. So, it’s potentially a season-changing addition if they manage to complete it. The Raiders need to get Allen or someone in his position to help Geno Smith run the O-line.
