The Pittsburgh Steelers are going against the New England Patriots right now, and the only interesting thing about the game is the injury that happened as soon as the game started. Following the end of the Mac Jones era, Bailey Zappe took over, and after a lot of effort, he finally made a mark in the NFL books with a touchdown. However, this is not about Mac Jones or Bailey Zappe but about TJ Watt.

The TNF game raised many questions about the injury protocols as Watt went out and stepped back into the field shortly after. With Kenny Pickett out of the picture for a while, the Steelers cannot afford to take any more hits to their roster and certainly cannot afford to lose their linebacker, TJ Watt, at this moment.

TJ Watt takes a hit as the Steelers hang by a thread against the Patriots

The Steelers LB missed most of the first drive when he was kneed in the face by Ezekiel Elliott in the first quarter. After this happened, the Patriots scored a touchdown and came in the lead against the Steelers. A tweet from Eric Edholm says, “TJ Watt down 1st play of game but … seems to be ok. Took a knee to the face.”  TJ Watt immediately left the game, went to the medical tent, and returned after a few minutes.

This has become controversial because the Steelers’ LB wasn’t checked for any concussions, and fans have a chip on their shoulders. Watt was seen using smelling salts as he prepared to return to the game. There are questions about why Watt is being allowed to return to play the game in the first place. He was evaluated for any jaw damage but not examined for any concussion.

As for the Patriots, Bailey Zappe is having the game of his career as he passed for more than 90 yards so far and also went for a touchdown. Unfortunately for him, there aren’t many people in the Gillette Stadium to watch him play, especially when they are giving the Steelers a run for their money.

The Patriots are doing well after a disappointing season

The Patriots are leading against the Pittsburgh team, and the first half is about to end. The game is most likely in the Steelers’ favor, and maybe people already know the outcome, considering how the stadium is mostly empty. The most expensive ticket for the game doesn’t extend more than $100, which shows that people are not interested in the game. For some, this game is just a formality and an easy win for the Steelers.

Kenny Pickett being out of the game is proving to be a problem for the Steelers. But then again, the Steelers always clutch the game in the last quarter. Maybe that is what we will see in this game as well. The Patriots have about a 70% chance of winning this game.
