By the looks of it, the Minnesota Vikings are desperately fighting for a chance to qualify for the playoffs. From this point onward, it’s a do-or-die situation for the Vikings, who are playing like it. However, the Minnesota team has taken an enormous blow to its tight end position, and TJ Hockenson is ruled out of the game. Things have become even more desperate.

Following this incident, injury experts openly shared their perspective with Hockenson. The injury analyst, Jeff Mueller, tweeted on X, and it does not look favorable for the Vikings right now. But the Vikings’ hardships didn’t stop there as their receiver Jordan Addison also took a hit and was ruled out of the game. If the Vikings win this game, it would be a Christmas Miracle for them.

Jeff Mueller shared a video of TJ Hockenson taking a nasty hit in the third quarter as the Vikings trailed 17-14. The footage shows Hockenson catching the pass and making a run for it. Three Lions chased the TE but could not keep up with him. Little did he know he was about to be hit by a truck. Just as he caught the ball, he was tackled in the legs and flipped in the air. He was slow to get up and limped when he did. He seems to have contracted an injury in the right leg.

Jeff Mueller has an interesting analysis of the situation. Per his analysis, Hockenson took a hit to the knee when he fell. According to Mueller, this may be an MCL or an ACL injury. Either way, this hit is a massive blow for Hockenson and the Vikings. At one point, the Vikings took a lead over the Lions, but the Lions are back on the map again.

Hockenson took a hit on a 24-yard reception from Nick Mullens when he took the hit. No chances were taken on him, and he was instantly ruled out of the game to avoid further damage. However, this happened after Jordan Addison took an early hit.

Addison’s blow makes things difficult for the Vikings

Nick Mullens was intercepted in the second quarter, and unfortunately, Jordan Addison was caught in the middle of it. The rookie WR was the intended recipient of the pass, but Mullens got intercepted, and Addison injured his ankle. He was sent to the medical tent for further analysis of his injury.

In Addison’s absence, KJ Osborn and Brandon Powell will try to manage the situation. So far, it’s unclear whether either of the injured players will return to the field to help their teams.
