The Miami Dolphins are set to take on the Tennessee Titans just later today. Neither team’s had a great start to their season though. The Titans in particular are on a straight 3 game losing streak, but the Dolphins will be keen to extend that streak at least one game longer. At 1-2, the crowd in Miami would love nothing more than to see their boys take to the field and turn things around for their campaign.
That is, of course, if the game actually takes place, weather permitting. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 PM EDT, kicking off at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida. Thankfully, the weather forecasts predict only a 5% chance of rain at 7PM, and none at all for the rest of the night afterwards. It’s been a surprisingly dry September actually, with below-average rainfall. Miami hasn’t seen any significant rain since the 2nd of September.

Mike McDaniel‘s coaching has elevated the Dolphins in the time he’s been with them. So the slow start of this season has been particularly disappointing for them, of course. Further complications set them back even more.
Starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa being injured in week 2 was bad enough. Backup quarterback Skylar Thompson then had to walk off the very next game, suffering a rib injury. Just 4 weeks in they’re on their 3rd quarterback: Tyler Huntley’s set to start.
Whose night is it, the Dolphins or the Titans?

What’s your perspective on:
Could the weather be the Titans' biggest opponent in their clash with the Dolphins?
Have an interesting take?
The Titans and the Dolphins have played each other 40 times, with the Dolphins having won 21, and the Titans 19. Of the last 10 games, each team has won 5, so they’ve been pretty evenly matched throughout. A general trend you’ll notice though, is that when there is an overwhelming defeat, it’s generally the Dolphins who suffer it. Like in January of 2022, the Dolphins lost 3-34. Or a close repeat in 2012, losing 3-37. Sure, we could go back farther, but past a certain point, you’re looking at pretty much entirely different teams. Literally, for the Titans, who used to be the Oilers.
Betting sites seem to have the Dolphins at a slight advantage, poised at 58% or so. Not that we condone betting, but we’d imagine they know what they’re talking about. The home-ground advantage likely factors in, as does their slightly better record this season over the Titans. We’re sure the Titans will be keen to finally get a win on the board, leaving the Jaguars the only winless team on the table.
