While focusing on the draft’s first overall pick, inviting Cam Ward for a scheduled workout, and reshuffling the locker room, Brian Callahan’s franchise has dropped a major update for the 2025 NFL season. It hits hard to see those blue-jersey guys struggle through an entire season with a 3-14 record. But a little change can also bring some freshness into the air. And that’s exactly what Callahan’s franchise decided to do for the 2025 season.
Longtime Titans beat writer Jim Wyatt quietly revealed a major plan by the franchise, saying, “The plan is to wear Titans blue at every one of our home games this year.” Yep, that’s true. Callahan’s organization has decided to wear light blue jerseys for all home games. Titans President and CEO Burke Nihill explained, “We’re talking to fans, and we’re listening, and there’s a clear appetite to have the Titans, their team, represented on the field in this noticeable color that has been with this team since 1960.”

This particular shade of light blue has been with the team since 2003, and while they used it occasionally, the Titans are now giving more weight to fans’ demands. In the last season alone, the franchise wore the iconic light blue uniform four times. For years, just like the name, the color has been a point of pride. And no wonder this iconic light blue shade has a unique name—Titans blue.
The CEO of the organization himself emphasized this. “Our fans, our players, they love it. Titans blue has always been a part of this organization, and there is something uniquely ours when that color is the dominant color,” CEO Nihill said. But while they dominate the field with color, the Titans are also gearing up with a strong roster. Thanks to the Giants, who agreed to this move. Let’s check out the update.

Tim Boyle in Brian Callahan’s building
After signing two veteran NFL quarterbacks, Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, the Giants have traded their quarterback. Though contract details haven’t been revealed yet, sources suggest it could be around one million. The Giants had initially signed Tim Boyle to a one-year, $1,125,000 deal. However, in the 2024 season, he was associated with the Texans, the Dolphins, and, of course, Brian Callahan’s team. After playing for three franchises in a single calendar year (2024), the Titans have now added the Green Bay Packers’ 2018 NFL pick.

In the new quarterback room, Boyle will compete for a QB spot, likely as QB2 or QB3. Unfortunately, Tim Boyle has never played a full NFL season as a starting quarterback. Last season, he got the opportunity to start one game after Drew Lock and Tommy DeVito suffered injuries following the release of Daniel Jones. In the 2024 season, Boyle played only three games, completing 54% of his passes for 276 yards and one touchdown. Over his entire NFL career, Boyle has played in 23 games, completing 60.5% of his passes for 1,210 yards and five touchdowns.

The stats look decent, but adding him to the QB room reveals the Titans’ strategy of stacking options at the quarterback position. And if the Titans select Cam Ward as the first overall pick, Tim Boyle’s six years of NFL experience could help mentor a young QB. Let’s see if Brian Callahan’s Titans decide to pick a QB or look elsewhere in the 2025 NFL Draft.
