Shedeur Sanders was probably hoping his NFL draft stock could get a much-needed boost after Colorado’s Pro Day. But surprisingly, the opposite is happening. After he completed 62 of his 67 passes, showed off his strong deep throw capabilities and accurate passing. It seems the Titans have seen enough from Sanders. Just a day after, all of the Titans’ brass was present in Boulder to evaluate the prospect of signing Sanders. And their conclusion? It may not sound like music to Sanders’ ears.
As per NFL insider Jim Wyatt, the Titans have reportedly cancelled their upcoming private workout session with Sanders. This comes after they watched 4 years of game film, scouted him multiple times and even attended his Pro Day. The Titans’ decision not to hold a private workout means they have zeroed in on Miami’s Cam Ward.
It’s only a matter of time before Ward heads to Music City after the NFL draft in Wisconsin. Like he was already getting lots of traction from the Titans. They not only attended his Pro Day but also hosted him for a private workout, unlike Sanders. So, the Titans’ choice to move on from their pursuit of Sanders raises a major question about his draft stock. No doubt Sanders has an appealing resume with 4,134 passing yards and 37 TDs last year. And there’s also his incredible accuracy that saw him put up a nation-leading 74% completion rate.

After yesterday’s Colorado Pro Day, @Titans brass met with Shedeur Sanders’ camp and the parties have agreed to cancel the upcoming private workout.

But, of course, Sanders is still far away from being touted as the No.1 pick. He still kind of struggles with throws on shorter routes, with his arm strength considered good but not great. And there’s also his lack of dual-threat capabilities. Leaving just the 2022 season with Jackson State, Sanders only has negative rushing yards to his name. Yes, Ward may not be good either, with only 469 rushing yards in 5 years. Sanders is even worse, with only 29.
So, it isn’t a complete surprise that franchises are passing on the prospect of signing Sanders. All attention seems to be invested in Ward as an NFL insider pitches a wild draft idea that could see Cam heading to Cleveland.

Titans predicted to miss out on Cam Ward as the Browns gear up for a surprise
See, ever since the first wave of NFL free agency ended, every mock draft has predicted Cam Ward to the Titans. However, ESPN’s Bill Barnwell has a wild idea that puts Ward on Cleveland’s route instead of Tennessee. Barnwell thinks the Browns will send their No.2 pick, No. 67 pick, and a 2026 second-round pick to get the Titans’ No.1 overall. He also believes the Falcons can chip in by sending Kirk Cousins to Tennessee to make this three-way trade happen. If it does go through, Barnwell also predicted the Browns would land a 2026 sixth-round pick while the Falcons would get a 2027 seventh-round pick from the Titans.
What’s your perspective on:
Did the Titans make a mistake by moving on from Shedeur Sanders after his stellar Pro Day?
Have an interesting take?
Actually, this probably won’t happen after they rejected to host Sanders for a private workout. Yes, it could have been appealing, considering they get Sanders or Abdul Carter at No.2. There was also the chance of adding a few other names to make their roster stronger while getting their rookie QB. But it will be highly unlikely that the Titans will take this approach.

So far, everything has pointed towards them slowly closing in on Ward. And if he still doesn’t end up in Tennessee once the draft kicks off in Green Bay. Then, Barnwell might have the last laugh come April 24th.
