Recently, the Washington Commanders invited 22 players to a 30-visit. The team reportedly took these players to TopGolf and a casual dinner. The motivation behind this was to judge how the players reacted to each other’s presence, and how their behavior was and to get tuned to what Commanders’ practice sessions would look like.

These tactics are Adam Peters’ brainchild and work hand in hand with Dan Quinn’s inputs. After the visit happened, we got to know that Jayden Daniels’ agent had a little falling out with the Commanders’ staff and perhaps, these are the kinds of things that Peters and Quinn wanted to filter out. However, former NFL Exec Scott Pioli revealed another side of Dan Quinn.

The 3x SB winning executive has worked closely with Dan Quinn during his Atlanta Falcons days. He attests to the Commanders’ new HC’s competitive spirit because Pioli has seen it first-hand. The video on X is a precursor to the upcoming draft and points out how the Washington team assembled all the QBs under one roof. That might be because Quinn wanted to see their reactions.

“Well, I hear this story about the Washington Commanders. I’m not surprised at all because I worked with Dan Quinn and everything, and I mean absolutely everything with Dan Quinn was about competition. If you went to the cafeteria and you have one burger, DQ was gonna make sure he got two burgers.” Said the former Exec.

He later added, “DQ was always about that competition that he felt from that Pete Carroll school. I’m not surprised that they took them to TopGolf to see how not only they would interact, but how they would react to one another’s success and failure.”

The interaction sure caused some stir, not with Jayden Daniels, but with his agent!

Daniels’ agent upset at the Commanders

The LSU QBs agent Ron Butler took it to heart when he found out that his client wasn’t the only person invited to the party. This came after he found Drake Maye, JJ McCarthy, and Michael Penix Jr. under the same roof as Daniels. The Agency1 Athlete Management Group didn’t express himself personally but liked a post from a fan account.

Butler reportedly liked a post on X that said, “How many companies do this? Puts them around their peers? Bring players from the team along and see how they interact. Who the f*** cares how they interact with players they will never play with? This doesn’t make sense to me.”

JP Finlay replied to the comment, pointing out the exact reason why the Commanders did it, reasons that are already mentioned throughout this piece.
