Everyone loved Caleb William since he was drafted by the Chicago Bears, from many famous NFL faces to his team members who talked highly of him. Two of the scouts of the Bears said he has a talent that doesn’t come around often. Some even called him “generational talent.” But not everyone can like you. The former American football Guard, Mark Schlereth has questioned Williams’ hype.
The 3X Super Bowl champ, Schlereth, has a few things to say about the hype Caleb is getting. On his Stinkin’ Truth podcast this week, he said, “I see the talent in Caleb Williams, no doubt. But just because he’s called a ‘generational talent’ doesn’t mean he’s a ‘generational quarterback.” He thinks Williams isn’t quite ready for those big titles yet and even called him the “Slowest” in passing.
It didn’t stop there. Former NFL player Jermaine Jones jumped in, asking Schlereth, “Caleb has made you a believer stink, how many Bears games you calling this yr?” Schlereth did not let it slide and answered, “Ridiculous talent. It’s still the Bears so I am not quite ready to jump.” telling people to stop hyping him up. But the question here is, is all the hype unnecessary or does Williams deserve it?

Everyone was buzzing when the USC signal caller was drafted No. 1 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. Even though others are very talented, you must have heard Caleb’s name the most.

Opponent’s praises proving Caleb Williams deserves the hype
The Chicago Bears might make it back to the playoffs in 2024 for the first time since 2020, with rookie QB leading the charge. In the preseason, Williams played 43 snaps, closer to Bears’ original target of 45-55. Still, the team feels pretty good about how much the starters have played in the preseason games against the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals.

Chicago media has been impressed with Williams, but getting support from an opponent is something different. Bengals reporter Jeremy Rauch gave Williams a shout out, saying, “I could not have been more impressed with how Caleb Williams looked.” Rauch is suggesting other teams should start worrying about what the Bears might do this year.
Williams’ presence will be a great addition for the Bears. And his game might prove Pro Bowl offensive lineman, who won 3X Super bowl in his career wrong. We’re all hoping Caleb can lead the Bears to victory and make this season one to remember. It’s going to be an exciting year for the Bears and their fans. Everyone’s eager to see how it goes.
