It is not rare in a physically demanding sport for players to lose control and get into heated arguments or make foul plays during a match. Especially, in an intense and physically demanding league like the NFL, it’s the case more often than not. Casually, the league needs to keep the players within boundaries and punish them for the instances it believes to be unnecessary. As week 9 kicks in, over $3,210,250 worth of fines grabbed the spotlight as the NFL rolled out its weekly safety-related decisions.

Interestingly, the schedule of fines was jointly negotiated between the NFL and the NFLPA and then communicated to every NFL player before the season. Ahead of week 9 of the 2023 season, we have collected the numbers that the entities have paid for their unethical behaviors in the league. And it’s quite an amount.
