If you already missed Thursday Night Football due to work, the Carolina Panthers are here to make you regret it. The team justified their surname with a wild 79-yard touchdown to open the scoreline against the Bears. Even though the score doesn’t indicate it, the Bears won after a closely contested match, and the touchdown was exceptional. We hold a moment of silence for the poor fans who missed it live.

Whenever a midweek NFL matchup is there, you just stop whatever you are doing and join the broadcast right away! Work can wait, the NFL can’t. Don’t be the guy failing to turn up for the live and make up for it with a replay, the lack of Adrenaline rush is not worth it!

The moment occurred halfway through the first quarter. Wide receiver Ihmir Smith-Marsette caught a 57-yard Bears punt and took the ball for a run around Chicago. Smith-Marsette did not stop before reaching the Bears’ end zone after covering 79 yards in some 11 seconds. The play opened the scoreline and sent the stadium bonkers.

The touchdown has to be among the best so far in the season. See it for yourself:

Unbelievable, right? But it’s nearly not the same if you watched it live. The Panthers lost the match, but their fans had more to take away from this single play than the rest of the game. The dopamine from the moment alone probably was enough to counter the agony of the streak-extending defeat.

Don’t be the highlights guy!

With 8 losses already in the season, playoffs are long gone for the Panthers. One can imagine the mental state of their fans who just tune in for their love of the team. But it’s moments like these that make a fan proud of their choice. A win here likely wouldn’t have changed the scenario for the Panthers, but the touchdown changed the mood even for the rival fans.
