Russell Wilson has arrived at the building! After the Jameis Winston news broke, the New York Giants have now grabbed headlines once again. This time with a blockbuster move. Ten-time Pro Bowl quarterback Wilson is packing his bags for the Big Apple. He agreed to a one-year, $10.5 million deal with Brian Daboll’s squad. But just as the deal was nearly finalized, one of the Giants’ top stars dropped a four-word reaction that’s turning heads.

Darius Slayton, who recently signed a $36 million contract with the Giants, wasted no time sharing his excitement over Wilson’s arrival. ESPN’s Adam Schefter was among the first to report the news, stating: “The Giants and Super Bowl-winning QB Russell Wilson reached agreement today on a one-year deal worth up to $21 million, including $10.5 million guaranteed. The 10-time Pro Bowler had been in discussions with the Giants, Browns, and Steelers, but is opting for…” Wilson had been exploring options with multiple teams—including Cleveland and Pittsburgh—since free agency opened. Weeks of guessing, and he’s finally got a new home!

Before landing in New York, Russell visited Cleveland but faced rejection. The Pittsburgh Steelers also parted ways with him right after the offseason started. But the Giants, who hold the 3rd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, have brought in Wilson for the quarterback job. Now, Brian Daboll’s team has two veteran quarterbacks. Meanwhile, the Giants have officially released their future schedule, revealing must-watch matchups on the horizon. If Wilson takes the reins as the team’s starting quarterback, he’ll be facing off against his former team in a showdown that fans won’t want to miss.

Finally, Russell Wilson will face his former team

The Giants have officially released their schedule for the 2025 season. While reporting the news, Russell Wilson’s franchise wrote, “According to the NFL’s schedule rotation, the Giants will face the NFC North, AFC West, and same-place finishers from the NFC South, NFC West, and AFC East.” But in doing so, they also revealed that RW would face his former employer.
