The NBA All-Star Celebrity Game wrapped up with NFL players shining on the court. CJ Stroud, Micah Parsons, and Mecole Hardman, all participated at the event on Friday in Indianapolis, under Team Shannon and Team Stephen A. In the exciting thriller, QB CJ Stroud, under Team Stephen A., lost to Micah Parsons and Team Shannon with 100-91 points. Stroud accumulated 31 points to his name, while Parsons was able to get even closer to his 40-point aim with 37 points. So, who is responsible for the loss of Stroud’s team? Well, Stroud has something interesting to blame. In his recent Instagram story, Stroud congratulated Parsons and jokingly revealed the reason for his failure.
The Texans QB said, “I’ll take 31. That basketball shape DIFFERENT!! (with a laughing emoji). Shoutout @_micahparsons11 respect! Jumper not the same no more gotta get back in the gym. Had a great time thank you! @nba” Although Stroud has a basketball or jumper to blame, it is important to know that the quarterback has been a two-sport star since high school.
Stroud showcased his basketball talent during his time at Rancho Cucamonga High School in California. The 6 feet three inches tall athlete’s notable career as a shooting guard and small forward included impressive scoring performances, especially during his sophomore (2017-18) and junior (2018-19) seasons, when Rancho Cucamonga experienced significant success.
This time again, he showed his prowess in the 2024 NBA celebrity game scoring 31 points on Friday, February 16. Nevertheless, he is happy for Parsons, who wished to block him, in a pre-game banter.
