In a pregame press conference on Thursday of the Chiefs, QB Patrick Mahomes talked to the media about his upcoming rivalry with the Ravens. When asked about the challenges and his preparations for it, by a curious reporter, Mahomes admitted that this is indeed going to be a threat in their road to the Super Bowl.
The 28-year-old quarterback stated three reasons indicating why this would be a challenge for them, “Oh, there’s definitely been some schematic changes, but then the day it’s the Ravens. Mahomes also admitted that the Ravens also have a strong offense that has performed well in recent years. He continued, “But if you think about the Ravens, it’s defense and they’re gonna fly around and try to dictate tempo, that’s just who they are.” Mahomes added that his team’s job is to go out there and play their game – fast and physical – and match their intensity.

The Ravens are set to host the Chiefs this weekend. Ahead of the game, in a press conference on Wednesday, quarterback Lamar Jackson expressed his thoughts on the upcoming rival and Patrick Mahomes. He said, “I don’t like competing against him at all. He’s a great quarterback. [He’s] definitely a Hall of Famer. It’s a no-brainer. I believe [it’s] just two greats — up-and-coming greats — just going toe-to-toe, like a heavyweight fight.”
