The Philadelphia Eagles face a challenging stretch of games following their bye week. Unfortunately, they will probably have to navigate this tough period without the services of Dallas Goedert. Suffering a fractured forearm in the Week 9 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, the tight end is expected to miss a significant portion of the upcoming matchups. While there is optimism for a return during the regular season, the Eagles will be without his contributions for the majority of the demanding five-game stretch.

This includes contests against the Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys, Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, and Buffalo Bills. Although the return of Goedert is looking to be difficult, the head coach Nick Sirianni has showcased a ray of hope for the fans, hinting at his return to the game soon. So, is there any chance of seeing Goedert in the game against the Kansas City Chiefs?

In a recent conversation with the media, Nick Sirianni talked about the current condition of the team. Also, talked about how they’re planning to move ahead in the season. Moreover, he’s also shed some light on the injury update of Dallas Goedert. He claimed that the team has “high hopes” for the return of their star tight end in the upcoming games. There’s a good chance he might return to the roster soon.

Sirianni stated, “Dallas is gonna be back. You know again I don’t know when, I think that’s unfair to Dallas. But yeah, there’s a reason he’s not on IR yet.” Moreover, in another media presence, Sirianni wished for the speedy recovery of the player. He also enunciated that Goedert comes back when he feels ready to join the team again.

Goedert isn’t on the IR for a reason

Opting for a strategic approach to manage the injury of tight end Dallas Goedert, the Philadelphia Eagles have refrained from placing him on injury report. This decision allows flexibility in his potential return timeline. Mainly because placing Goedert on injured reserve would have mandated his absence until at least the team’s game against the Seattle Seahawks on December 17.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ decision not to place tight end Dallas Goedert on injured reserve appears to be influenced by the strategic timing of their bye week. Interestingly, this bye week wouldn’t have counted as one of the four games. He’d be required to miss if placed on injured reserve.

As the Eagles navigate Goedert’s recovery, the best-case scenario seems to be targeting his return for the December 10 matchup on the road against the Dallas Cowboys. This approach allows the team to maximize his availability while balancing the intricacies of the NFL’s injured reserve rules. What are your thoughts about this? Tell us in the comments section.
