Douglas revealed that he initially hung up on Packers GM Brian Gutekunst thinking the trade news was a joke. But later, he faced a harsh reality check when it actually turned out to be true. The trade left a few emotional. The sentimental weight of the trade was palpable as teammates Aaron Jones and Douglas shared an emotional moment.
The two shed tears over the separation when they found out that it wasn?t a prank but their reality. They had actually become best friends during their time together in the same team. Due to the absence of direct flights from Green Bay to Buffalo meant a delayed arrival for Douglas. Douglas first met his new teammates on the practice field but did not participate as he was settling in. As they released their injury report, they mentioned something that got everyone rolling.
The Bills amusingly cited “just got here” as the official reason for Douglas’s non-participation in the IR. Now, this trade adds a significant player to the Bills’ defense. With a three-year contract already under his belt, Douglas is now preparing to make his mark in Bills.
