The fans are celebrating Thanksgiving. Everyone was pumped about the week 13 game between the Green Bay Packers and Miami Dolphins. And there was a pleasant surprise. The league got the violinist and songwriter Lindsey Stirling for the halftime show at the Lambeau Field. But instead of getting happy, the fans were angry.
Millions were glued to the screen, but the NBC didn’t show her live performance. When the fans got to see it on social media thanks to the Packers beat writer for USA Today, Ryan Wood, they were pissed at such a broadcasting disaster. It spoiled the Thanksgiving celebrations for sure.

Definitely, the NFL broadcaster learned nothing from last year’s Thanksgiving mistake. In 2023, the Seahawks and 49ers were battling it out on the Lumen Field. Steve Aoki was the halftime performer. But the NBC didn’t show it.
They straightaway cut to the commercials. No one can understand if they do this thing intentionally as this year too, they cut Stirling’s performance. Is the money factor forcing them? For those who don’t know, the Thanksgiving commercial slots are priced around $1.45 million, almost 3X the prices this year of the regular games and 16% more than last year. But the fans aren’t concerned about it. They wanted to see the performance, and when they couldn’t, the anger came out on social media.

One fan thanked Wood for posting the video on X but got angry on NBC and wrote, “Thanks for sharing! NBC chose not to show it! 😡” But that’s not all. Another fan noticed the details of her performance and called out the poor management by the NFL for the live performance. He tweeted, “Couldn’t even give her a stage?”
One fan was eagerly waiting for the performance during the Packers and Dolphins matchup. She vented her frustration at NBC and tweeted, “They didn’t show her performance and I am pissed!!” Another fan called it a very mean thing by the broadcaster while writing, “@SNFonNBC not showing this is awful.” That’s right. The fans were excited about Lindsey Stirling’s performance, and the NBC damped it.
“Why tf is NBC not showing it 😭” commented one fan when he also found out the video on social media. It made him emotional. The NFL tries to please its fans through these performances. But the broadcaster played a major spoilsport.

The same mistake has been repeated twice now. Hope NBC learns its lessons and does not remove such wonderful performances from their coverage.
