The owner of the Houston Texans is excited for the upcoming 2024 season. At the annual league meeting on Tuesday, NFL owners agreed to appoint Cal McNair, the chairman and CEO of the Texans as the new principal owner of the franchise.

As McNair expressed his deep sense of pride in leading the Texans organization, he is also eagerly embracing aspirations for the Super Bowl. The new owner and his wife, Hannah McNair, too, are awaiting the next season, with an immense belief in their team and their quarterback, CJ Stroud.

In the latest interview, after becoming the new principal owner, Cal McNair and his wife, Hannah McNair, expressed their faith in the team’s QB CJ Stroud, while embracing Super Bowl aspirations. McNair said, “Well, he did great, so yeah, he was really exciting. He brought the team together. It is a quarterback league and I think we got one and so we can’t wait to see him. Start spinning it again this year and take the next step. So it’s gonna be fun.

Chiming into it, his wife, Hannah too shared her thoughts and appreciation for Stroud, saying, “He’s a leader. And you know, when you have that high caliber quarterback, the only way to be great and be great for a long time is to have a leader in the course of it as well.” McNair expressed excitement about the team’s potential and the high expectations from the Texans kingdom and Stroud.

He acknowledged, “It’s fun to have those [Super Bowl] expectations and we embrace them and we know we got to go out and work hard every day and start off and basically we’re starting a new season putting in…. New team together and they’re starting from scratch, so it’s exciting but we’ve got a lot of work to do.

Although Cal McNair recognizes the significant amount of work ahead, he is equally excited about his new journey as the principal owner as well.

How is the team’s record under Cal McNair?

At the NFL’s annual meeting, the team owners officially made Cal McNair the new principal owner of the Texans group. Cal expressed his honor and commitment to leading the franchise, aiming for its long-term stability. Previously, Janice McNair, Cal’s mother, held the position after her husband, Bob McNair, passed away in 2018.

Since then, Cal has overseen the team’s daily operations and under him, the Texans have gone 31-51-1. The McNair family sees the team as integral, with Janice expressing pride in Cal’s leadership. The approval comes after legal actions from Robert Cary McNair Jr., Cal’s brother, who sought guardianship for Janice and later withdrew the lawsuit.

Now, it remains to be seen how well the Texans and rookie, Pro Bowl star CJ Stroud stand up to the Super Bowl expectations the next season.
