CJ Stroud is an exceptional quarterback but it is his empathetic nature that has garnered the attention of the fans this time. The QB is helping the people in the city of Houston with relief after a 100mph storm left multiple dead, injured, and in a horrible situation. The storm was so deadly that it blew out the windows of some high-rise buildings and destroyed power lines all across, causing serious damage to the city.

But here Stroud is, doing his best to lend a hand of help to the people who were affected by the natural tragedy. A video from MLFootball surfaced and it highlights the Texans QB giving back to the community during a time when they need it the most. By the looks of it, everyone is proud of this ex-Buckeyes QB!

CJ Stroud: A hero with no cape

MLFootball’s recent post on X said, “CLASS ACT: #Texans QB C.J. Stroud is a special person, helping people in Houston with cleanup and taking down trees following a devastating storm,” and that “Stroud also made sure to also play catch with the kids in the neighborhood 👏.” The video shows Stroud playing catch with the neighborhood kids, talking, and joking with the people in his vicinity.

The storm called “derecho” left 7 people dead, injured numerous people there and about 800k people in the metro area of Houston were without any power. But other counties are also facing power outages as nearly half a million people were devoid of electricity on Saturday morning.

Sadly, among the 7 people who lost their lives, there was also a mother of a newborn, deceased untimely. The 31-year-old woman reportedly has 4 children. She is said to have gone outside to move her car so that an unstable tree wouldn’t fall on the vehicle, but tragically, the tree ended up falling on the woman herself. Trees, cranes, and poles falling on people have been the leading cause of death in the horrifying incident.

Seeing all this tragedy, Stroud had the heart to help the affected people with cleaning up, moving trees so they don’t hurt others, and playing catch with the kids nearby to keep their minds distracted from the concerning issue. However, this is not the first time the Houston QB was seen helping the community.

The Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Ryan Patrick Day revealed that it costs around $13 million per year to keep the Buckeyes on par with their competition. Over the years, Buckeyes athletes have been requesting transfers for better opportunities and even getting snagged by other universities with better resources. Hence, seeing all this, Stroud decided to help his college team out.

At the beginning of this year, Stroud decided to make a hefty donation to one of OSU’s collectives called “The Foundation.” The QB is listed as a platinum donor and according to some sources, those donations might have been somewhere around $50k-$100k. Stroud has set the example for many up-and-coming athletes by breaking in the playoffs in his rookie year. In the process, he also shined some light on the Buckeyes football program.

People might already be interested in joining the university after seeing Stroud’s achievements. Some of that credit goes to the Texans QB who has been in a relentless pursuit of giving back to humanity. Stroud also donates through other ventures helping underprivileged kids. The QB also has his hands in trying to reform the prison systems so that the inmates have a better shot at life. These acts of kindness are what make Stroud so respected even as a young member of the NFL!
