Baker Mayfield finished off Sunday’s game with 21 out of 33 attempts for 235 yards, just 1 touchdown, and two interceptions. In the end, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Carolina Panthers with just three points in overtime. Still, this win couldn’t impress Terry Bradshaw.

During a recent discussion at Fox NFL show, Terry Bradshaw joined other hosts to discuss Week 13. And the segment started off with the topic of Baker Mayfield and his team. Tampa Bay recently won against Carolina 26-23. However, according to the 76-year-old, “Baker Mayfield (is) just a quarterback, an average guy.

He said this because he thinks the “defense is caring that team down there and making Baker look all feel good and two.” But in reality, for him, Mayfield is not as good as people might think about him. In the last game, Baker Mayfield scrambled for a 10-yard gain in the final moments of the battle. In addition to that, when the QB returned to the game after his injury, the matchup started rough with a harsh interception on his very first snap.

Though it was unclear whether the injury played a role in the mistake, the pressure was definitely on for him. The Buccaneers needed to step up and secure a win against Carolina. To his credit, Baker Mayfield bounced back, leading the offense to a touchdown on the following drive.

However, his last-minute comeback didn’t alter Bradshaw’s comments. Additionally, Baker Mayfield’s becoming second QB of the franchise (after Tom Brady) “to record consecutive seasons with 25-plus passing touchdowns,” also didn’t impress the former NFLer.

The exact reason for Terry Bradshaw’s dislike of Mayfield wasn’t clear. But if we look back at his previous comments for the QB, we might get an answer to it.

During the interview, Colin Cowherd randomly asked Bradshaw about his opinion of Mayfield. Now anyone in this case might say good things about the quarterback, or in the case of dislike, they might end up saying that they like other athletes over him. But here, in Bradshaw’s case, he straightaway expressed his hatred towards the QB.

He said, “I don’t like Baker Mayfield. I never did like Baker Mayfield. I don’t like people like that. I’m a character guy. I’ve never met the man, he might be the most wonderful human being in the world. But his body language and the way he acts — it’s a turnoff for me.” Hmm, so it might be the attitude problem of Mayfield that irks Terry Bradshaw. That’s the reason he further added, “That’s not the way I was raised. I was taught to have the ultimate respect for the people you are competing against. Have great humility and keep your mouth shut. … I don’t care anything about him.”
