“Good teams become great ones when the members trust each other enough to surrender the ME for the WE.” If there is one team in the NFL that is living up to this ‘team mentality’ it has to be the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals players have shown that being a teammate is not confined to the field. The players have stood up for each other outside of the field as well, speaking in support of each other on multiple occasions. One player particularly received much support from his teammates and that is Tee Higgins.

The Bengals WR is about to hit free agency but has clearly stated that he wants to stay with the team. And it’s not just him. Higgin’s teammates, especially QB Joe Burrow and WR Ja’Marr Chase, also want the core of the team to stay together for the coming seasons. But will that be possible? Well, Higgins is not quite sure. While speaking to FOX19’s Joe Danneman, he discussed the same and said, “We all want to keep the core pieces what it is, even with Mike Gesicki. That’s a core piece as well. So obviously, we want to build something here in Cincy, but you know, it’s not in my hands right now. So I gotta do what I need to do, and if that goes to another team, that’s what happens.”

Well, whatever happens eventually, Tee Higgins can be grateful for the support he has been receiving from his teammates. Burrow was even asked if he would be willing to move some of his own money around to keep Higgins and others with the Bengals. And without hesitation, the QB responded with ‘Of course’. Well, that’s a damn good teammate!!

With all the support he is getting from his teammates, especially Burrow, Higgins was asked how it felt. Higgins was greatly appreciative of Burrow and said, “No man, that’s what it’s all about, you know, another brother looking out for his brother, and you know you can’t ask for nothing more than that. I mean he putting that pressure on the front office and whatnot. But we’ll see, I appreciate him and Ja’Marr you know, for speaking out and doing things”.

He even pointed out that it wasn’t on Burrow or Chase to speak up for him, but they’re doing so and that shows the kind of guys they are. As for his future, Higgins kept it open-ended, saying, “We never know what the future holds.” Well, fans would certainly hope that the core of the team stays together at the Bengals.

Trey Hendrickson is all praise for Tee Higgins

What’s your perspective on:

Can the Bengals' brotherhood keep Tee Higgins in Cincinnati, or will the front office break it up?

Have an interesting take?

Burrows, Chase, Higgins, and Hendrickson, are all part of the core Bengals team. And while Chase and Burrow will surely stay with the team, Hendrickson and Higgins’ future is still uncertain. Well amidst all this, the Bengals DE shared his thoughts on his teammates’ situation and was all praise for him.

As Hendrickson made an appearance at the Pat McAfee show he said, “I can’t say something bad about Joe, Ja’Marr, and Tee, and you know, specifically Tee, ’cause it’s a lot going on in his situation as well. For a guy to take that kind of a role where on 31 other teams he’s gonna be WR1 and then here accepting a role as WR2.” It is clear that even though Higgins’ future remains uncertain, the support from teammates like Hendrickson and Burrow shows just how much he’s valued as a player and an individual.
