According to multiple sources, it was rumored that Kansas City mayor Quinton Lucas has indirectly conveyed to Taylor Swift’s reps that it might be beneficial if the global megastar chose to skip the championship parade for the Chiefs due to security reasons. The rationale behind this was that Swift’s presence could potentially pose significant logistical challenges for the city’s security forces due to the massive turnout of her millions of devoted fans. Furthermore, the rumors were that Lucas expressed this concern for the safety of the parade-goers, especially if Swifties decided to camp out overnight along the parade route.

However, the mayor has now stepped up to reveal the truth. In a recent tweet on his X, Lucas debunked the rumors, and stated, “Not true at all. Just had a great chat with @kcpolice Chief Graves. We’re enchanted to welcome everyone to tomorrow’s parade and the women and men of our police department are prepared to keep all safe. We’ll have a great championship celebration for our Chiefs!”
He also tagged the NY Post which claimed that Lucas is suggesting Swift to “skip” the event. With this tweet, he clarified that the rumors of him suggesting the pop icon skip the event on Wednesday, February 14, are false. That means the 14-time Grammy winner can attend the event this Wednesday. However, to meet Travis Kelce and attend the championship parade, she needs to defeat the time once again after the Super Bowl incident.

Taylor Swift is on her busy schedule for her second leg of the Eras Tour. This time, she is going to throw a concert in Australia. Therefore, appearing in the parade looks to be uncertain. She is set to embark on a tour in Melbourne, Australia starting this Friday, February 16, and ending in Sydney on Monday, February 26.
The gap from Australia is a considerable time difference of about 17 hours from Kansas City. Notably, a similar time difference existed between her Tokyo concert and Super Bowl LVIII location. However, the singer still covered about 9000 miles with the help of the Japanese Embassy, to show support for her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
