Did Taylor Swift's presence at Arrowhead really boost the Chiefs, or is it just a coincidence?

Taylor Swift decided to omit her award-winning ceremony to watch her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, play in Kansas City. And boy, it turned out to be a lucky charm as the Chiefs extended their record to 9-0 for the season. As for Swift, it meant she still hasn’t missed any games at Arrowhead. She even brought her mom and dad with her to witness Kelce etch his name in the franchise record books.

Slaying in a red jacket and black corset with a matching skirt, Swift and Kelce even shared the same color as they entered the stadium. Yep, Kelce also wore a red cardigan as he made his way into the building. As for her award ceremony, it was hosted by Rita Ora back in Manchester, UK. There, Swift scooped up three awards for Best Live, Best Artist, and Best Video ft. Post Malone with Fortnight. However, attending that ceremony would have meant her missing out on a sensational afternoon at Arrowhead.

Her partner, Travis Kelce, was the only Chiefs player to score a TD today. And that, too, came in the first half when he caught a short pass from Patrick Mahomes. This was only his second TD of the season, which even got Swift clapping from the VIP box as fans captured her reaction. As for Kelce, he equaled Hall of Fame TE Tony Gonzalez for all-time TDs (76) scored by a tight end in red and white.

However, Kelce and Mahomes got another chance to combine, but Mahomes’ pass was just too high for Kelce. It would have given the Chiefs some breathing space as they came away victorious with the last play of the game. And the unlikely hero turned out to be special teams player Leo Chanel, who had just been brought in to block the field goal.

As for the Swifties, who didn’t see their singer attend the MTV EMAs, there were a few disappointed heads, “So Taylor’s not going to the EMAs???????Wow.” While another one questioned Swift’s decision to ditch the Manchester show, “Taylor, why are you at the Chiefs game you’re supposed to be announcing rep TV at the EMAs in a couple hours.” Well, who could blame Swift for making that decision as the Chiefs continue their winning run courtesy of their last-minute heroics?

Leo Chanel saves Patrick Mahomes blushes in Kansas City

Have an interesting take?

Would you believe that Patrick Mahomes was sacked a whopping four times today? And it still wasn’t enough to give the Broncos bragging rights on Sunday. Well, all thanks to Leo Chanel, who blocked Broncos kicker Wil Lutz’s final 35-yard field goal attempt as the clock ran down to zero. As for Mahomes, he also squandered two opportunities to throw a TD. One of them came early into the fourth quarter when Mahomes had rookie receiver Xavier Worthy in the open.

Finding him on the play meant he could have run for a potential 51-yard open TD. However, Mahomes ended up missing that chance as his pass went beyond Worthy and went out of bounds. Next up was an easy throw to Kelce, who was wide open for a pass in the end zone. But the Chiefs QB’s throw went above his head, thereby pushing the game for a field goal. Although that Harrison Butker 20-yard field goal did prove to be decisive, Mahomes would have been left red-faced if not for Chanel’s heroics.

As the Chiefs win their 9th consecutive game of the season, Mahomes would surely like to forget his day on the field. However, for the Chiefs Kingdom, it’s a day they wouldn’t forget for a long time.
