The Indianapolis Colts owner, Jim Irsay, is in heaps of trouble right now. The Colts are struggling to keep up this season, and it is not sitting well with Irsay. It is suspected that this loss is because of bad calls that were not in the Colts’ favor. Jim Irsay’s candor got the best of him, and he might face the repercussions of it. Without posting anything controversial on social media, Irsay quickly became a person of interest in the NFL’s eyes.
As big of a league as it is, the NFL doesn’t take kindly when its core values are infringed upon. Tom Pelissero came out with a suspenseful tweet that gives us a picture of what’s happening but doesn’t say who is involved. At this point, it’s just a matter of connecting the dots. The Colts vs. Browns game really stirred up the NFL soup.

Jim Irsay presses the NFL
There are a couple of cardinal sins the NFL just doesn’t allow its associates to indulge in. One of them has to do with their strict social media laws. From the outside looking in, it looks like the NFL is very conservative about resolving in-house problems and doesn’t make a public display out of them.
That was the cardinal sin Irsay committed when he posted Anthony Richardson’s surgery update on X and spilled the tea about the NFL’s failure to make correct calls. He wants instant replays of all the calls, including penalties, to be included in the game’s last two minutes.
URGENT NFL/COLTS NEWS:
🏈 #5 QB Anthony Richardson’s surgery today in LA was a success! It was a long procedure and his shoulder injury has been repaired. No new surprises were found during surgery – they just repaired what was expected. Anthony is doing well and thanks everyone…— Jim Irsay (@JimIrsay) October 25, 2023
Tom Pelissero tweeted about the situation but didn’t tell who.
The NFL communicates with teams on a weekly basis about various calls. Team officials are prohibited from commenting publicly on those discussions. Now, a team owner has publicly said the league admitted to officiating mistakes. Stay tuned …

This has put a spotlight on the NFL officials and highlights their rare failure to make the correct calls. This started with the Colts vs. Browns game after the Colts lost 39-38 after the referees called out Darrell Baker Jr., giving two bonus penalties to the Browns.

Till that point, the Colts were leading 38-33 before everything changed in the last quarter. Baker got called out for a pass interference penalty at a very crucial time of the game. Now, Irsay’s tweet clearly mentions that the NFL has admitted its error. However, it’s too late for reparations.
Jim Irsay’s limbo
The NFL imposes serious ramifications on players and team officials alike for breaking out any injury news, lewd comments, or any other unwarranted tweets or posts. In the past, Jermaine Whitehead was kicked out of the Browns for posting death threats to journalists and fans after a loss to the Denver Broncos. Although Irsay’s statements are not as serious, he may still be penalized by the NFL for his transgressions.

The NFL might just let Jim Irsay go with a parking ticket as he is not a player but an owner of a team. He spoke out because he and the team have a lot on the line, and this game could have made all the difference for the Colts. They would have been 4-3 if they won this game. Irsay’s concerns are valid to some extent, and the NFL hasn’t given a verdict on the situation yet. But we don’t think that the NFL has serious ramifications in store for the Colts’ owner.
It’s speculation to think that the NFL will suspend the owner. It’s a far-fetched conclusion that the NFL will fire an owner. Had it been a player, things would have been different. Are Irsay’s transgressions valid? What do you think? Let us know below.
