The Patriots quarterback Mac Jones was benched in their last game against the Giants. Both teams fought a fierce battle at MetLife Stadium this Sunday. The Patriots and Giants both lost eight games each and were desperately hunting for their next win.

Although the score at the end of the first quarter remained 0-0, the Giants opened the account at the start of the second quarter because of Devito’s TD effort and remained ahead by 7-0 at halftime. The Patriots’ resurgence came in the second half when they secured a touchdown but the field goal by the Giants that came in the fourth quarter ultimately sealed the deal. The Patriots lost the game 10-7 by the end and Jones’ benching had raised more doubts about their future prospects.

Mac Jones has secured ten TDs in the ongoing season for the Patriots, but his ten interceptions speak a lot more about the form of play that he has been in the recent games. Today too Jones was intercepted two times and didn’t secure a single TD, resulting in his benching mid-game. Dov Kleiman shared the update on X.

He was replaced by Bailey Zappe, who took no time in turning the tides in favor of the Patriots. He completed all five pass attempts and did what Mac Jones couldn’t do all game long. Score! His efforts resulted in the late resurgence for the Patriots and have helped them level the scores to ensure that the fans will get a perfect nail-biter. But their fate took a dark turn when the field goal by the Giants turned the tide.
