Will Brock Purdy break the NFL this year? 2 years into the league and he’s been through a lot. From being labeled as a “system QB” to finding his way to the Super Bowl LVIII, the San Francisco 49ers QB has come a long way since then. He might be one of the few people capable of putting a frown on Taylor Swift’s face if everything goes to plan, that is.

Purdy has gained a huge fandom himself over the past two years and the 49ers have also helped him to get where he is right now. But here the Chiefs are experts at demolishing the plans of their opposition.

The Super Bowl LVIII has to be one of those games where the fans find themselves confused about whom to support. Added to that, the Chiefs find themselves with some new fan base pouring in since the Chiefs TE Travis Kelce and the Grammy singer got together.

Brock Purdy is as ready as he can be

By the looks of it, Purdy seems extremely confident in his abilities. It didn’t take long before the crowd’s boos for Kelce turned into loud cheers for the Niners quarterback. The 49ers on CBS just uploaded a snippet of the SB opening night and this time Purdy got the highlights. They captioned the video, “Brock Purdy is ready to disappoint Taylor Swift 😂” on X.

The host asked the Niners QB a straightforward question and got an undemanding response in exchange. The host asked Purdy, If it comes down to it Brock and it’s late in the 4th quarter, are you prepared to disappoint Taylor Swift?” The look on Patrick Mahomes’ face after this question was priceless and Purdy added more to the conversation and said, “Yes, I’ll leave it at that”.

Taylor Swift has been in 12 of the Chiefs games. The KC team has won 9 of those games, including the ones in the off-season. In her presence, the Chiefs won the first four of their games and then succumbed to a bit of bad luck in the next three games in which the Grammy singer was present. But the Chiefs bounced back and won all five games in which she was present. Now they are on a 5 game-win streak (games in which Swift was present).

Whether Brock Purdy be able to break the streak and make it 4 losses in the 13th game with Taylor? By the looks of it, Purdy seems to do just fine with the label “Anti Hero” on his head. The reporter of the segment took a friend jab at Purdy and said, “She might write a song about you, you never know”.

The Super Bowl Opening Night saw Patrick Mahomes laughing as Purdy spoke, but one cannot downplay the Taylor Swift effect.

Will the Sin City feel the Taylor Swift factor?

The 12-time Grammy winner has already secured a spot in the hearts of the NFL community with her active presence at Chiefs’ games. The answer to ‘What Purdy needs to know?’ is simple. Taylor Swift may have already secured a parking spot for her private jet at the Super Bowl.

Everyone has Taylor Swift’s name on their lips. For instance, in the bowels of the Allegiant Stadium, Goodell allowed himself a smile when an invitation-only media briefing was hijacked by the pop superstar. “Having the Taylor Swift effect is a positive,” Goodell said. “They’re — both Travis and Taylor… She knows great entertainment and I think it is great to have her a part of it. Obviously, it creates a buzz … another group of young fans that are interested and saying ‘why is she going to this game?’” he added.

Deccan Herald’s report suggests that the ‘Swift factor’ could make the 58th Super Bowl the most-watched game of all time. With millions of dollars of added brand value to the Chiefs, the Taylor-Kelce love story has taken the NFL season to a whole new level. “Taylor Swift’s association with Travis Kelce and appearances at the Chiefs game has generated an equivalent brand value of $331.5 million for the Kansas City Chiefs and the NFL” said Apex President Eric Smallwood to Reuters in an email.
