NFL’s just got its newest reporter who goes by the name Jeremiah Andrew Fennell. At the tender age of 11, with his love for the NFL and his contributions, he has made big strides and is now finally recognized by the big leagues. The story of this young prodigy is awe-inspiring, and it is safe to say that his family and loved ones couldn’t have dreamed of seeing him at this stature, where he is now.
Jeremiah couldn’t chase his dreams of playing football because of a medical condition. However, he stayed committed to the sport and found different avenues to explore the sport that he loved so much. After a lot of practice and commentating on his YouTube channel, he was later contacted by the Las Vegas Fox 5 Surprise Squad, and that was the turning point in his life.

Everything made sense when Fox invited the young broadcaster to the studio and gave him a chance to meet all his favorite broadcasters. Later on, he was invited by Daniel Carlson to the Raiders vs. Chiefs game in 2022. There, he got the biggest break of his life and a chance to interview the Raiders WR Davante Adams.
He executed his first interview with grace and remembered all the stats and figures during the interview. Great for a first interview! He expressed his interest in knowing the players personally and refrained from asking game-related questions. In the same spirit, he asked the WR about the greatest memories of his childhood. Adams described an anecdote from when he was just 7. He recalled the instance where he met JJ Stokes, which changed his life.

On the Super Bowl opening night, he got to interview stars like Travis Kelce, George Kittle, and even Patrick Mahomes! In an excerpt of his conversation with George Kittle, he was seen asking him personal questions with a twist of fun and a child-like curiosity.

He even got praise from some of the prominent sports reporters on the occasion of the SB Opening Night. Reporter Michael Robinson caught hold of him and asked him to elaborate on his story a bit more. MLFootball uploaded a snippet of Jeremiah’s conversation with Robinson and captioned the video, “This is awesome: 11-year-old Jeremiah Fennell already sounds like the best reporter at NFL Network. He says he got into the media business at 7-year-old because he had medical issues and was unable to play the sport.”

The 11-year-old reporter talked about how his medical condition debilitated him and kept him from playing sports. However, he is on the right track. With his dedication to mixing up passion and hard work, he didn’t seem ‘odd’ during the conversation. It’s only fair to take a look at his early life and how he got into the sports world despite being born with serious medical issues.
From “missing a gland in his brain” to making a name for himself in the NFL world
Jeremiah was born with medical issues and the doctors told his parents that his chances of survival were very slim. He was born via Cesarean surgery and had some neurological deficiencies growing up. A couple of medical tests revealed that he had a detached right clavicle, and the doctors raised concerns that he might have a hearing deficiency in the future as well. So, his mother taught him reading, writing, and ASL (sign language) with the assistance of Child Find. He could barely speak at the age of 2.5 years.

But his mother didn’t lose patience with him and tried admitting him to preschool. He got in at the age of 3 but was shunned by the school for being too “advanced” in his learning. But everything changed when he came in contact with the sport that’s football. According to jeremiahoneandfive, “he turned into a completely different person while watching sports”.

The sports newest journalist became fond of the Las Vegas Raiders quickly and started commentating on their games play-by-play. He said in an interview that his mother often told him that he was too loud. So, with his newfound passion for football, he started practicing his commentary quietly and a couple of years later, opened a YouTube channel @jeremiahoneandfive5176 in April 2020, where he would give his take on the NFL games. But everything changed when the Raiders found their new home, the city of Las Vegas.
