With the arrival of the ultimate result, Super Bowl LVIII offered many possible records and feats. But after hours of grappling for the title and the opportunity to rewrite history, two of the NFL’s celebrated names, Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes, stood to make the offer theirs, mainly of those backing them.
The Super Bowl LVIII was nothing short of a spectacle, filled with thrills to the brink. The 49ers took the early lead, hoping to clinch their first win since 1995. However, the Kansas City Chiefs returned to deliver a record and etch history.

It was the fourth time the Kansas City Chiefs headed to the Super Bowl in the last five years. After securing two wins out of the lot, the Chiefs clinched their third recent win and second consecutive one, going 25-22. In doing so, they became the only team since 2003-2004 to win back-to-back championships. This makes the ever-consistent Patrick Mahomes and coach Andy Reid the only ones to join Tom Brady, the Patriots, and coach Bill Belichick in attaining the feat.

The Super Bowl witnessed just the second overtime in its history when the Chiefs clashed against the 49ers. When the latter started strong, the game looked well on its court. However, it was soon a game of thrill and anticipation as the Chiefs raced to catch to take overtime. Given the opportunity, Patrick Mahomes rose to heights, bringing the team well off.
The 28-year-old secured a 75-yard touchdown drive after a fourth-and-1 scramble and a 7-yard catch from tight end Travis Kelce. The performance was easily the best and crucial for the Chiefs to make their mark on the historic evening. In the process, Mahomes completed 34 of 46 passes for 333 yards with two touchdowns.
