When you think of the Jerry Jones’ Cowboys, you picture iconic plays, Super Bowl wins, and…tourists? Ahan. Big D’s practice facility is turning into a zoo, and one Super Bowl champ just ain’t having it.
On CBS’ Pro Football Talk, former NFL star Rodney Harrison took a swing at owner Jones for letting fans roam the halls during critical practice time. “I think it all matters and it’s all a part of trying to establish a culture,” he declared, putting Jones on blast. Harrison didn’t mince words: “If your owner is allowing people to come in and distract the players—walk through, hit the wall, hit the window, wave at the players—I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.”
He went on to advise HC Mike McCarthy to take action, asserting, “If I were Mike McCarthy, I’d go to Jerry Jones and be like, ‘we have to change this.’ Jerry Jones as an owner can’t just say, it’s my way or the highway, because he doesn’t know how it affects the players in the locker room.” In Harrison’s eyes, these distractions make players feel like a piece of meat on display. “A lot of times you just feel like a piece of meat, when you’re standing there and fans are coming in and waving—it’s a distraction. It’s either you’re building a culture or ripping down a culture,” the Super Bowl champ said.

But hold up—the man under center ain’t fazed. Dak Prescott shrugged it all off, alluding, “I’m not gonna let a couple people distract me.” For the 31-year-old, it’s all about mental toughness: “You can have a negative mindset and allow that to ruin your day, or you can be thankful.” The three-time Pro Bowler acknowledged that the tours are probably “ten times more” frequent than other teams, but hey, it’s part of the gig, right?
Yet, the timing of these tours is as off as a referee’s call in the fourth quarter. With Dallas (3-2) prepping to face off San Francisco on Oct. 28, distractions are the last thing they need. Picture this: a tour group with fans, excitedly snapping pics while players are trying to focus. It’s a crazy scene, but at what cost?
A tour guide stands by, spinning tales of glory while former players have started to voice their frustration. “It’s like you’re in a zoo,” said one ex-player, echoing sentiments that these tours don’t help win games. “I just don’t think that really equates to winning. That has nothing to do with us winning the game.”

As for Jerry Jones? He claims he’s never heard a peep of discontent from players. “Not one time,” the Big D owner insists, brushing off the noise. Even one Texans DE candidly said all of this is a distraction.

J.J. Watt calls out Jerry Jones’ glitzy distraction
Feeling like the Cowboys are stuck in a never-ending circus? You’re not alone! As frustration grows among Big D fans, even rival player J.J. Watt’s weighing in. In a chat with Pat McAfee, Watt took aim at what he called Jerry’s “Crystal Palace,” suggesting it’s become more about glitz than grit.

Watt lamented that instead of an intimidating venue for opponents, AT&T Stadium’s turned into a spectacle. “Different things are happening. You feel like you’re an exhibit in a much bigger circus,” he asserted, pointing out distractions like dancers and concerts that overshadow the game. “The game doesn’t feel like it’s the most important part of the day there.”
As Big D aims to turn stuff around, fans are left wondering: can they regain their championship swagger amidst the fanfare? Time will tell.
