Will Andy Reid's strategic genius lead the Chiefs to a historic perfect season, or is defeat inevitable?

Can the Chiefs do the unthinkable? Can they win the Super Bowl three times in a row? So far this season, it appears that this is a likely scenario. The team’s head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes, have done an outstanding job. Everyone wants to know what their secret sauce is. And it appears that yet another Super Bowl champion has cracked it.

Here the legend in talks is six-time Pro Bowler Jeff Saturday. Some of you may have missed the 49-year-old legend’s appearance on Unsportsmanlike Radio. There, he talked a lot about the Chiefs and highlighted how Andy Reid had knitted the squad. The man asserted that while they have the world’s best quarterback, there is another key to their success. Their defense.

“Make no mistake, that defense is why they’re sitting undefeated right now,” Saturday claimed. This was not all; as the man also admired wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. The former athlete noted that when you have a quarterback-friendly, wide receiver, no one can stop him. Hopkins’ age and speed do not matter, since he has demonstrated why he is a legend.

Players like Travis Kelce also contribute significantly to the team’s progress. Kelce, with his outstanding defensive game, is also a valuable asset on offense. Patrick Mahomes, our star performance, is the icing on top for Andy Ried. Saturday stated that Mahomes is a quarterback who understands how to locate players, and when a quarterback learns this, he is already a legend.

All of these were incredible statements from him. However, the guy did not stop there; he also predicted that the team’s unbeaten record would come to an end. But why would he say such a thing?

Will Andy Reid purposely interrupt the Chiefs’ unbeaten streak?

Have an interesting take?

The Chiefs intentionally losing seems strange, but Jeff Saturday insists it can happen. A squad will be overconfident if it finishes the season unbeaten. This is why strategic coaches typically hold players back in a single game. The NFL great said that Bill Polian did this and Andy Reid is quite similar to him. During the 2010 season, the GM used a similar approach and held several players back in a game.

Saturday was on the squad at the time, and he witnessed what happened while the team was 14-0. In their 15th game, they led until halftime, but then players began to hold back. Andy Ried can do the same for the Chiefs if they have a two-game lead over the second club in their division. This allows the squad to confuse opposing teams without risking their safety. However, the NFL icon himself wants the Chiefs to have a flawless season.

In the game’s more than 100-year existence, just one club has enjoyed a perfect season. The 1972 Miami Dolphins went unbeaten, including three postseason games. They’re 17-0, which is still a solid record. It will be fascinating to see if Andy Reid and his Chiefs become the second team to achieve a perfect season or not.

Well, we’ll see that in the future, but what do you think? Should Andy Reid restrain his players during a game or not?
