The Dallas Cowboys are having a rough season. With a 3-7 record, they are in third place in their NFC East division. Not exactly the picture fans want to see. What’s even worse is their performance at home. The Cowboys have played three games this season at their home turf, AT&T Stadium, and lost every single one. That’s six straight losses at home since the 2023 playoffs. Yes, you read that right! There’s this saying, ‘Everybody’s a lion at home,’ but for the Cowboys, it’s been the complete opposite lately. To your surprise, the sun has become quite an issue for Jerry Jones’s Dallas Cowboys. First, the giant star blocked CeeDee Lamb’s touchdown, and now it’s messing with the Cowboys’ head coach at press conferences.
Maybe it’s time for Jerry Jones to listen to CeeDee’s concerns instead of brushing them off. Or maybe Cowboys fans should stop blaming ‘the hot ball’ for their team’s disappointing season. The team has become a laughing stock for netizens because of the giant star. They’re throwing punks here and there whenever they find a chance. Recently, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy was addressing a press conference. As he stood at the podium answering questions, sunlight started hitting his face. He didn’t mention it, but netizens wasted no time making jokes about it, like, ‘Did McCarthy make sure the roof was intact before stepping up to the podium?’

It turned into a ‘fun hot topic’ on X right after Jon Machota from The Athletic posted a picture of McCarthy from the conference. Jokes aside, the sun has become a problem for the Cowboys. During Week 10, when the Cowboys were facing off against the Eagles at home, CeeDee Lamb missed a catch from backup quarterback Cooper Rush because the sun was blinding him as the ball came in.

After that, some people went wild, telling Jerry Jones to install curtains at the stadium. And that’s how the joke started, especially after the Cowboys suffered a brutal 6-34 loss. No way CeeDee’s single touchdown was going to save them. Who’s gonna tell the blindsided fans that it’s not the giant star but the team’s disjointed offense?
CeeDee Lamb urges that AT&T Stadium needs curtains.
The whole thing people are joking about has been a real issue for the Cowboys ever since AT&T Stadium opened in 2009. Yes, the sun problem has been around for quite a while now. And Jerry Jones just refuses to do anything about it. For him, it’s the last thing on his list that he’d even think about. “Well, let’s just tear the damn stadium down and build another one. You kidding me?” said Jones after the game against the Eagles. But the Cowboys wide receiver has a completely different take on it.

What’s your perspective on:
Is the sun really to blame for the Cowboys' losses, or is it just poor management?
Have an interesting take?
His struggles with the sun were pretty obvious during the game against the Eagles. He even pointed it out on the field a few times. After the game, he spoke to the media and expressed his frustration about missing the touchdown because of it. He said the stadium ‘1000%’ needs curtains. But it seems like Jerry Jones isn’t buying it as an excuse for losing games.
The whole situation’s got fans pretty irritated too. A user on X commented, “Can we stop with the curtain and sun? How about we burn this entire thing down and start from scratch with a new owner, GM? Because the current owner has S–T for brains”, under McCarthy’s conference picture. Oh, man! This season is rough for the Cowboys. Hope the management steps in to fix everything—from adding curtains to fixing up the offense.
