The Tennessee Titans faced off against the Green Bay Packers in Week 3, hoping to secure their first win of the season. Unfortunately, turnovers continued to haunt the Titans, especially their rookie quarterback, Will Levis. After losing two close games in the first two weeks, Tennessee was looking for a turnaround. The Packers, led by their strong defense, capitalized on every opportunity, making it a tough day for Levis and the Titans.
Will Levis had a rough moment during the Titans vs. Packers game, throwing a pick-6, marking his sixth turnover of the season. Things weren’t looking great, and the pressure was mounting. That’s when Scott Hanson came through with an epic call on live TV, telling Levis to “pull a Taylor Swift and shake it off.” It was the perfect pop-culture reference to lighten the mood, even as fans cringed at the interception.

Levis’ biggest blunder of the game came late in the first quarter when he attempted a pass intended for DeAndre Hopkins. Green Bay cornerback Jaire Alexander read the play perfectly, jumping the route and snagging the interception. To make matters worse, Alexander returned it for a pick-six, giving the Packers a 17-7 lead. This marked Levis’ fourth interception of the season and his second that had been returned for a touchdown. While Levis tried to make a safe play, he got too greedy, which proved costly for the Titans.
This wasn’t Levis’ first turnover issue. He had already thrown three other interceptions this season, and his decision-making has been questioned since Week 1. One of his most notorious plays was an underhanded pick-six in the season opener against the Bears, a mistake that cost the Titans the game. In Week 2, he fumbled the ball with a diving backwards flip in the red zone, losing valuable points. These types of errors have made the 25-year-old somewhat of a meme among fans, and his habit of turning the ball over is becoming a serious concern.
With turnovers piling up, the rookie quarterback needs to shake off the bad vibes and get back on track. Hopefully, Hanson’s advice sticks, and Levis can bounce back!

Fan frustration and Will Levis’ Path to Improvement

Will Levis needs to 'shake it off'—is he the future of the Titans or just hype?
Have an interesting take?
The fanbase is growing increasingly frustrated with Levis’ inability to protect the football. After his pick-six against the Packers, many fans took to social media, demanding that the Titans bench Levis. One fan on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, “At some point you have to bite the bullet and bench Will Levis, unless you want to spot the opposing team 7 points a game.” Another fan chimed in, “Levis is gonna get himself benched. How many games is he going to single-handedly lose?”
The QB himself understands the weight of his mistakes. Earlier in the week, he spoke about his need to be more careful with the ball, especially in critical situations. “Just knowing the times when you have to be uber careful with the ball,” Levis said. He acknowledged that he needs to be more aware of when it’s worth taking a risk and when it’s smarter to play it safe. “What’s the best and smartest thing to do? I am just, every day, trying to think of those situations and get better in them.”

Despite his optimistic outlook, Levis has yet to translate these words into action. He has the highest number of turnovers in the NFL through Week 3, which is seriously affecting both his trajectory and the Titans’ chances this season. The Titans are now 0-3, and if Levis doesn’t find a way to limit his mistakes, his starting role could be in jeopardy. Head coach Brian Callahan has expressed disappointment in his quarterback’s decisions and has hinted that Mason Rudolph could take over if things don’t improve soon.
