Tyreek Hill is not only known for his speed and skills on the gridiron but also for his iconic celebration. This includes but is not limited to throwing up the deuces. While this evidently harmless celebration has seen Hill being fined for showboating, and disliked by the refs, the WR has not shied away from celebrating his team and other members.

However, the games aren’t always in favor of the squad and Hill is aware of this fact. More or less, predicaments like these leave one frustrated and annoyed. Reflecting on this emotion, Antonio Brown asked the professional about his mental strength and how he manages to showcase his strength without losing his cool. The answer unfolded in a simple yet powerful Barry Sanders mentality, one that the Dolphins WR chooses to keep up with the pace of the game.

The host wanted to know whether the Dolphins receiver felt like he was at the top of the mountain or unstoppable when he scored and “chucked a deuce” at his opponents. More so, AB wanted to know Hill’s mindset moving forward in the game. “Cheetah just caught a bomb for 80 yards, what are you feeling when you’re in the zone?” asked Brown.

“I be thinking about the next crazy celebration,” said Hill and added later, “On to the next one bro, Barry Sanders mentality, unless I do a celebration bro.” But this Barry Sanders mentality that Hill talks about reveals a lot about his own character.

The Pro Football Hall of Famer and Detroit Lions RB Barry Sanders never used to mock other players or showboated in a game. He was known to make other players look bad from time to time, but for the most part, he was a gentleman who used to help the opposing players off the ground and tell them “Well done.”

In the same Barry Sanders spirit, Hill managed to bag 119 receptions, 13 touchdowns and 1,799 receiving yards in the 2023 season. ESPN ranked him first in terms of most touchdowns and receiving yards. Perhaps this helping hand mentality is what keeps Hill busy off the field and sometimes, takes his focus away from football. Hill opened up about how he sometimes struggles to focus on football and in an adorable confession put forward his reasoning behind the same.

Tyreek Hill’s fatherly character makes it difficult to be hardheaded

A while ago, Hill went on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast, and he was confronted with having 10 children. “You play offense, but off the field, you’re the all-time leading tackler. You’ve got 10 kids,” and the host asked the receiver how he takes the time out to balance his family life and football. Per Hill, taking care of kids can be challenging sometimes.

“Sometimes it can be so hard for me to like mentally lock in because I’ve got daughters too. You know how daughters be. They want to be Daddy’s girl. They want to be held and stuff like that,” said the Dolphins receiver. The wide receiver is known for being close to his kids as he face times them on alternate days. His young daughter is especially close to him.

He had once said, “My little girl, she can carry my image. I was raised by some very powerful women- my grandma, my mom, my sister.” While being a dad and family time softens the metal barriers Hill puts up for the on-field challenges, he later clarified, “Sometimes it is tough, but at the same time, I’ve got to be aware I’ve still got a job to do. But I’ve got to be father to my kids in this small moment that I’ve got them here. It’s a lot.”
