Like every year, a lot of promising NCAA players made their NFL debut. And Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, and Bo Nix were among the most promising. Caleb Williams was picked first overall by the Bears. After making waves at the University of Southern California, everyone had their eyes on him. But good times don’t last forever.

The Bears fumbled badly, managing only four wins so far. And before the 23-year-old QB could even wrap his head around it, the whole Bears failure was dumped on him. Criticizing the Bears QB has become one of the favorite pastimes for NFL fans and some analysts. But the young QB has been proving everyone wrong ever since.

From performing better in his recent games to giving back to the community, Caleb Williams shows his critics that he has a long way to go in this league. The Bears QB is one of the three QBs in NFL history to have 2,600 passing yards, 14 passing TDs, 6 interceptions, and over 360 Rushing Yards in their first 12 games. Recently, he was named NFLPA Community MVP for Week 14. This was because the Bears QB had his jersey retirement ceremony at his alma mater and he took the opportunity to do something for the young kids.

Caleb Williams spent time with the young ones from the local Boys & Girls club, giving them a cool learning experience. They got to be on the field and even spend some time in the stadium tunnel with the Bears QB. The Caleb Cares Foundation backed the entire event. No matter how much people criticize him for the Bears’ struggles, they’ve got to give him credit for this off-the-field contribution.

Several fans praised the QB for taking a step towards contributing to the community. “Caleb Williams, turning his jersey retirement into a community event – from gridiron heroics to hero for the kids. GOAT status confirmed,” wrote a user on X. But can the Chicago team’s failure be dumped solely on him?

Is Caleb Williams only responsible for the Bears’ crippling defense?

What’s your perspective on:

Is Caleb Williams unfairly blamed for the Bears' woes, or does he share the responsibility?

Have an interesting take?

When it rains, it pours! This phrase pretty much sums up the Bears’ situation this season. With only four wins in their column, the Bears have become criticism targets, and whatnot. More than the other players and the management, it’s Caleb Williams who has taken the brunt of the criticism. But as many of you know, it’s not just him, it’s the crippling defensive line. Yes, the QB has been inconsistent in his performance, but the Bears could have gone with their QB2, Tyson Bagent. Some of the Bears players have been wanting that.

On top of that, the management has also been firing people left, right, and center. First, they fired OC Shane Waldron, and recently HC Matt Eberflus. Honestly, Bears fans have been waiting for the management to fire Eberflus. His coaching choices and time management have been highly questionable this season. Former OC Thomas Brown is now serving as the HC for the team. His first game as head coach will be this Sunday against the 49ers.

The Bears are now out of the race for the playoffs this season, let alone the Super Bowl. But it will be a crucial test for Thomas Brown. Williams has improved a lot since he joined as the OC, and now with him as the HC, we’re hoping he puts up some great numbers on the board.
