The NFL franchises and fans have been historically known for their comically low patience with the head coaches. But who thought Eagles‘ Super Bowl runner-up coach Nick Sirianni would face the heat after an off-tracked second half of the season?
As surprising as it sounds, Sirianni has faced firing calls from a significant portion of the fanbase following the Eagles’ giveaway loss against the Cardinals. Interestingly, it looks like he is aware of the noises. Coming to the post-game presser, the HC shared a cryptic message over a particular question.

Nick Sirianni says ‘got to stick together’ amid firing demands
When a reporter asked about his message to the team, Sirianni replied with a few meaningful lines. “Stick together. Everybody’s got to stick together“, it looked like the head coach hinted towards conversations of a locker room rift that doesn’t exist. But it became clear that he knew what he was talking about after his following lines.
“I think there’s going to be a lot of people trying to point the finger at different things, and everybody’s got to stick together, right“, he expressed his suspicions that were already taking place. “We win as a team, we lose as a team, and together is the most important thing that we can be right now“, he further shared the mantra of ‘Unity is strength.’

Sirianni might land in trouble if the Eagles go ‘one and done’
Sirianni took up the Eagles’ job only 3 years ago, and it has only been an upward run for them. Previous coach Doug Pederson was sacked after failing to send the team to the playoffs, which Sirianni accumulated in his first season but lost the wild card round. The following season was a further improvement as the side reached the Super Bowl, only losing out on their 2nd title to the Chiefs.

From their recent records, the notoriously unforgiving Eagles won’t be merciful to Sirianni if the current season is an improvement of their last one, i.e. a Super Bowl. Pederson faced the same fate despite earning them their maiden ring just 3 years prior, and there’s no hint yet that the franchise will extend their trust to the current HC.

Sadly, the Eagles are far from their usual best. They are moving towards a ‘one and done’ which means a defeat in the wild card round. Forget improvement. That’s a degradation to the usual standard the Eagles like to maintain. So if history is to be believed, only a Super Bowl victory can save Sirianni’s Eagles’ career now. But will it happen with the side that’s yet to be at their best in week 17? The answer remains a mystery.
