The 3X Super Bowl winner Young is a legend for any player. But for the 49ers QB, he is someone to learn and grow from. That is the opportunity Purdy had when both QBs sat down for a talk.
“I thought it was awesome. To be able to sit down with him, I was very honored. I thought it was pretty cool that he was asking some really good questions, not just the generic stuff.”

Though Purdy is grateful for the opportunity, he also let out his thoughts on comparison with other QBs. “Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen, those guys are great but I’m not them and they’re not me. I know who I am” said the 24-year-old with confidence. Previously, Young had enquired about Purdy’s thought process regarding the comparisons media often makes.
And with this response, Purdy has essentially put down any forms of comparison and debate. The Pro Bowler takes a firm stance on his individuality and identity. However, he would love to put all comparisons to bed, by clinching the success all the QBs want.
