The precision behind Jordan Love and his passes is unreal. The San Francisco 49ers crushed the Green Bay Packers chance of progressing in the championship game in a 24-21 thriller. At some point, the young Packers team had the 49ers veterans shaken and were running circles around them. However, a missed field goal from Anders Carlson and 2 interceptions from Love became a boon for the Packers. In the wake of this game, a classic QB comparison came to light.

A post from Stephen A. Smith sheds light on why Jordan Love may be a better quarterback than Brock Purdy. A rookie who led his team to the playoffs is a huge deal. This year has been the year of rookies and if Love and his pack end up winning the game, he would be looked at under a different lens and possibly get a chance to be dubbed as a franchise QB after Aaron Rodgers.

When everyone thought the Niners were going to decimate the Packers, things took an opposite turn. Per Stephen A. Smith, Jordan Love “looked” better on the field than Brock Purdy. Jordan Love led the game in terms of touchdowns, and even pass completion rates, but couldn’t defeat Brock Purdy. However, the Packers did make the Niners work for the win, and at one instance, the Niners didn’t look like a champion team.

Stephen A.’s post on X said, “The better-looking QB on the field tonight is Jordan Love. Purdy is overthrowing, underthrowing, etc. Hasn’t looked good at all. @packers look like they have him shook. Don’t like@49ers chances of winning this game at all right now”

The broadcaster spoke out about how Purdy kept overthrowing and underthrowing; however, but didn’t throw a pick throughout the game. Though Love threw for two touchdowns, he was intercepted twice in the game. But it’s not just about this game that makes the argument “Love is better” more substantial.

What happened today at Levi’s Stadium was jaw-dropping. Purdy took a heroic late drive, and the 49ers fought back from a fourth-quarter deficit to take down the Green Bay Packers, 24-21.

But it’s Brock Purdy who earned a trip to the NFC Championship…

In the last 10 games that Jordan Love has played, he has only thrown 2 interceptions. Realistically, the same cannot be said about Brock Purdy. Purdy has thrown 10 interceptions in the last 10 games he has played. In the game against the Baltimore Ravens, the Niners lost because Purdy was forced to throw 4 interceptions. But what happened today changed the narrative.

In this divisional game, Purdy hasn’t thrown a single interception. It can be said that the Niners didn’t do much and for the first time in the season; it looked like the team had encountered a worthy opponent. Nevertheless, Purdy managed to lead the Niners to a Championship game somehow with only 59% of his passes completed over 252 yards. And though Jordan Love had a completion rate of 61.8%, he passed for 194 yards only and came out with a passer rating of  72.4 to Purdy’s 86.7

Purdy has proven yet again why he is better than a lot of other QBs in the league. But we have to give Jordan Love his share of credit considering how he took the Packers to a divisional game, being a rookie. For 49ers fans, Purdy remains a ‘better looking QB’.
