While running a route in a week 8 matchup, Stefon Diggs injured himself late in the third quarter. He went down on the non-contact injury and laid down on the field, grabbing his knee. However, later, after tests, reports came to light that Diggs tore his ACL, knocking him out of the season. But he isn’t the only player of Houston Texans to stay outside the game on Saturday afternoon against the Chiefs. Second-year receiver and CJ Stroud’s friend, Tank Dell, will be out too.

Tank Dell also suffered a season-ending injury after dislocating his kneecap in a Week 16 game. Now that he has undergone his first surgery and is walking on the crutches, Stefon Diggs has a message for him.

The Texans’s star receiver Stefon Diggs, who himself is battling with an ACL injury, shared a story on his official Instagram account on Tuesday. In this new update, he posted a black-and-white snap, featuring him and Tank Dell, walking down the Houston alley in casual outfits.

However, in the picture, Tank Dell could be seen walking with the help of crutches–a symbol of the terrifying knee injury that he suffered on December 22. So, keeping him hyped up and motivated, Diggs showed his love to his junior.

He tagged the 25-year-old and wrote, “Real family (with prayer emoji),” in the caption of the story. With this, he reportedly called Dell his family, while also praying for his speedy recovery.

In 14 games, Tank Dell has 51 catches for 667 yards with three touchdowns this season. However, as he is now out of the season, everyone, including his friend CJ Stroud, will miss him a lot in the playoffs. To those who are unaware, Stroud once called Dell his “best friend on the team” at the Pat McAfee show during the 2023 season. Together, the duo has helped the team in multiple wins. If we look at the stats, in total, as per StatMuse, Dell has recorded 98 catches for 1,376 yards, with 10 touchdowns in 25 games under CJ Stroud in his career. However, the 2024 season has definitely halted the duo’s further plans, as now Dell has to undergo multiple surgeries.

Tank Dell underwent his first surgery!

Tank Dell’s journey hit a heartbreaking twist after a devastating knee injury against the Chiefs. The young Texans receiver tore his ACL, dislocated his knee, and suffered extensive ligament damage. After all these, multiple surgeries have now been scheduled for him, and it clearly shows that he has a tough recovery ahead.

When asked about the injury status after the December 22 game, Coach DeMeco Ryans called it a significant injury, thus sidelining Tank Dell for the season. But he is indeed a hero! Despite the setback, Dell successfully underwent his first surgery on Wednesday. But before that, he made sure to support his team on the crutches. Yes! The fighter was on the sidelines recently in the Texans vs Chargers game, holding up his crutches alongside fellow injured teammate Stefon Diggs. And guess what? Their presence just lifted the fans and the team’s spirits.

Even quarterback C.J. Stroud shared what he felt post-game: “It’s always special to have your brothers in there. I’ve grown really close with Stef over this year. He texted me before the game and just gave me a whole bunch of motivation and said he was praying for me, and I appreciate that for real. I’ve been around Tank all the time, even now. It was good to see him back smiling, around with guys on the sideline, everybody saying what’s up to him.”

In addition, Stroud requested the fans to keep Diggs and Dell in their prayers, hoping for a speedy recovery for both the receivers!
