After a sensational four years at Highmark Stadium, WR Stefon Diggs said his goodbyes to the Bills earlier this year. Joining the Texans to kickstart his new chapter in the NFL, Diggs prepares to capture his first Super Bowl ring. Although people have continued to play down his chances of succeeding at Houston, Diggs remains unmoved by the criticism.
When asked about his switch to the Texans, the former Bills WR gave an interesting reference, to say the least. Speaking with the reporters, Diggs stated, “I don’t talk bad about my old girlfriend to make my new girlfriend feel good. I’m just happy to be where I am.” Well, Diggs is right because after leaving the Bills, he expressed nothing but respect for the franchise.

Taking to his Instagram, the Texans WR posted, “I can’t begin to express the amount of love and respect I have for the city of Buffalo. Four of the best years of my life, the city welcomed me with open arms. Sadly, good things come to an end until we meet again.” Looking back, Diggs’ time at Buffalo was truly great, as he won four Pro-Bowl accolades while helping the Bills qualify for playoffs in four consecutive seasons.
Each year, he managed to rack up at least 100 catches while recording more than 1,100 receiving yards. As for the Bills, they would be missing out on his precision while not getting a salary relief either. Having to count a staggering $31 million in dead cap, the Bills somehow managed to take Diggs out of their payload.

Although they managed to get a second-round pick in next year’s NFL draft, the Texans have got a prolific receiver on their hands. And, with last season’s offensive rookie of the year winner C.J. Stroud dictating the offense, Stefon Diggs can hope for a great start at Houston.

After joining the Texans, the four-time Pro Bowler is already making waves in his personal goals. Having been named the new captain of the team, the 1o-year pro expressed his excitement, “It was a personal goal, but it was so personal that I didn’t really share it with too many people. It was just something that I felt like I had to work for. I had to earn. Something I wanted for myself.” However, Diggs isn’t the only captain of the Texans; he joins the group of seven captains who will be leading the team out this season.

Well, Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans also gave his views after handing Diggs a leadership role, “That’s a special moment, and it shows the type of man that he is. The type of leader that he is and the impact that he’ll have on our team throughout this year.” Even the All-Pro continues to offer positive expectations, stepping into a new chapter in his NFL career. ‘
“Everybody knows what I came here to do, and what I’m trying to do is win. So, everything that entails week to week that will always change. You know, if I’ve got to run a million routes, if I’ve got to block a million times. It’s whatever that week calls for,” Diggs expressed. However, it remains to be seen whether his excitement for the new season produces the same result as his performances on the field. Or will he take it slow after switching out of his comfort zone in Bills? As the new season begins this week, we can’t wait to see him in new colors.
