Patrick Mahomes is afraid of two things apparently. What’s that, you might ask. It’s taking punches from Mike Tyson and punchlines from Tony Hinchcliffe after he retires. What’s the most popular side quest these days? It’s either some YouTube pay-per-view boxing match or choosing to get roasted on Netflix in front of millions of people. The Chiefs QB can’t do either.

After long, the Kansas City Chiefs star decided to break the silence on an informal stage at the Riggle’s Picks podcast. They started talking about Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson’s fight. Mahomes had everything about the fight mapped out in his head: from Jake Paul’s stamina to Mike Tyson’s ferocity, he knew about it all. But there was one question that he didn’t have to.

The question that has Mahomes shaking in his boots is, “What the price to get in the ring with Mike Tyson?” Would you as a reader step into the ring with Mike Tyson? That’s highly unlikely. Mahomes is tough, but not tough enough to take a punch that’s going to hit him like a truck, but that doesn’t mean he can’t defend himself.

“There’s zero price for me getting into the ring. I’ve never been a big fighter in general like if it’s life or death I’ll defend myself, but I usually let the big guys do it. So, it’s definitely not something that I’m looking to do after I’m done with my career. That and the roast. I’m not doing the roast either,” said Mahomes on Riggle’s Picks podcast.

But who in their right mind would fight one of the greatest boxers of all time? Kudos to Jake Paul for doing it, though. But that’s enough about boxing. What about the roast? It’s not easy to let people laugh at you when comedians expose the skeletons in their closets. Again, Tom Brady did it and is probably regretting it now. The whole Patriots gang caught nasty strays even when the jokes weren’t about them.

Affairs, CTEs, player’s wives, personal boundaries, nothing was sacred at that point. So that’s definitely something Patrick Mahomes as a 3x Super Bowl champion wants to avoid. Getting roasted takes a lot of gall and not many people have it within them to be a clown for the day for everyone to see. For now, Mahomes will stick to things he knows best, and that’s football.

But coming back to Brady for a second. Do you know why Mahomes might pass up on that roast idea? It’s because he might have heard what Tom Brady had to say after he got done with making an exhibition of himself to the whole world.

Deflategate, Giselle Bundchen, his kids, nothing was off-topic in the roast. Brady got hurt when the comedians brought up his wife and kids in the drama. But you see, nothing is off the records to comedians when they get the spotlight. They get the mic and they just let it rip. Brady was obviously upset after the havoc that roast wreaked.

“It was the bittersweet aspect of when you’re doing something you think is one way and then all of a sudden you realize I wouldn’t do that again because of the way it affected actually the people I care about the most in the world,” said Brady defending his kids from the drama.

Think about the lewd jokes about his wife cheating on him and how it would have affected Brady’s kids. This isn’t about money. Top-notch personalities like Mahomes and Brady have tons of money. But what good is the money when you can’t maintain your sanity and mental well-being?

There are no controversies directly related to Patrick Mahomes. But his brother and his father have been involved with some really shady things and he might not want comedians to expose his business to the world. It’s not worth it. What do you think?
