The Baltimore Ravens, and Pittsburgh Steelers will see their classic rivalry come to life in the playoffs. This will be a battle between the Ravens who are 12-5 on the power of Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry and a Pittsburgh team that has a 4-game losing streak. Jackson’s patented dual-threat ability has been the powerhouse of Baltimore’s elite passing attack and Henry’s ripping runs have generated a league-best 16 touchdowns. Meanwhile, the Steelers only made it to the playoffs at 10-7 after losing the last four games of the regular season. And despite head coach Mike Tomlin still in charge and rumors of Justin Fields coming back, Pittsburgh is still in a precarious situation.

Baltimore has one of the best defenses in the NFL (5th in allowed points) and they’ll want to contain the Steelers offense. Pittsburgh has not had a good start in years, but they do have a terrifying defensive front in T.J. Watt. The two teams split the regular season series with the Ravens coming away with a victory in the final game. This playoff game is not even so much a game as it is a boxing match for AFC North glory.

This is old-school AFC North football — cold enough to feel your throat but just in the right range for playoff football. At kickoff, it will be around 30°F, and it “feels like” 22°F due to 8mph northwest wind. In the fourth quarter, it will fall a little to 28°F, with some clouds here and there, but no rain on the horizon. It’s the weather that will make things harder.

This is not your date night if you are hoping for a snow-capped game. You won’t get any precipitation during the game with a 0% probability of it coming down at M&T Bank Stadium. The sky should be open at 10 miles and both sides should have perfect conditions for playing their game plan. All about the play, no luck tonight, no weather to bail anyone out of a mistake.

The game won’t have snow in the mix, so it will be a battle of skill and guts. And neither team is going to shy away from the grit this battle calls for. Cold weather can be a distraction, but this is football weather in all its glory—greats are made, playoff hopes are crushed. Whether they will win or crumble?

It’s all about precision and grit under the playoff spotlight. As Ravens head coach John Harbaugh once quipped, “I guess it’d be a little colder with a hole in the sun, probably.”

Can Lamar Jackson's dual-threat magic outshine T.J. Watt's defensive prowess in this epic playoff showdown?

Steelers vs Ravens: A rivalry born for January

Steelers vs Ravens: The titanic contest that will forever be in NFL history is bone-chilling and nail-biting. Pitt has 36-26 record against them since that first encounter in 1996, 3-1 in the postseason. Both games this season were a draw with Baltimore ending a four-game losing streak against the Steelers by rolling over them 34-17 in December. That win guaranteed the Ravens’ playoff spot.

It will all be centered on Lamar Jackson, who as an aerial and ground gamer is the game’s greatest X-factor. But Pittsburgh’s T.J. Watt is at home in this kind of thing and can break anything on his own. The Steelers defense can get them turnovers, and if they can make good use of it, they might just make it to the end. Alternatively, the Ravens defense is set to be hell for whoever Pittsburgh picks up at quarterback.

The best part is that famous violinist Lindsey Stirling will be playing live throughout the game, making the experience even more enchanting. And the National Anthem will be sung by Samantha Polino and thrown in for good measure for a playoff showdown to remember.

This matchup is more than just a game; it’s a battle for AFC North supremacy. The Ravens are favorites going into it, but the Steelers don’t always fail where everyone thinks they will. The sky will be clear, and the wind cold. Whether Baltimore’s run game takes the cake or Pittsburgh’s determination wins the day, one thing’s for sure: this Wild Card game will go down as yet another chapter in one of the great NFL rivalries.
