“I think Aaron wants someone to roll out the red carpet for him. That is what he is looking for. I’m not sure if he would consider the Steelers doing that right now.” That’s what Aaron Rodgers‘s former teammate, Davante Adams, said about his bestie’s future plans. We all know what’s been happening for the past month and a half. The love story between Mike Tomlin‘s Steelers and Rodgers is still going on.

At the NFL’s annual meeting in Palm Beach, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin told reporters that the team is “extremely interested” in signing the 41-year-old quarterback. Many veterans feel that Tomlin, known for being a quick decision-maker, is now stepping out of character. With the draft just around the corner, the situation appears to be heating up. With only one day left before heading to Green Bay, Steelers GM Omar Khan has sent a final message to Aaron Rodgers.

According to Blitzburgh, Khan commented on this year’s quarterback class in the draft: “I think it’s a good quarterback class. I really do.” This update followed a joint press conference held by Khan and Tomlin on Tuesday.

Before taking any questions, Khan opened the presser by saying, “First, I know you guys are going to ask about the quarterback position, and I’ll just tell you the same thing I said in Palm Beach a couple of weeks ago: we went to [training camp] with four quarterbacks. Right now, we have two on the roster, and all options are on the table for how we acquire the remaining two. I assure you, we’ll have four when we get to Latrobe.” Tomlin has previously stated he has a four-quarterback plan.

However, since last month, they’ve struggled to fill that roster spot—largely due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Aaron Rodgers. At this point, many are wondering: why hasn’t Rodgers given a firm answer yet?

Well, the answer likely lies in the NFL Draft. There’s a strong chance that Aaron Rodgers is waiting to see how things play out. During and after the draft, veteran quarterbacks often get flooded with opportunities and opinions.

Right now, Rodgers seems to have just one clear option — Mike Tomlin’s Steelers. As Mike Florio of NBC Sports pointed out, we can’t rule out the possibility that A-Rod is waiting for the 2025 draft and the perfect opportunity to jump in with one of the 32 teams.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Aaron Rodgers playing hard to get, or is he just waiting for the perfect offer?

Have an interesting take?

But while Rodgers is not responding firmly to the Steelers, there are also rumors that the team is going to sign Shedeur Sanders. What’s the rumor? Let’s dive in to know more.

Shedeur Sanders may land in Pittsburgh amid Aaron Rodgers drama

Since the offseason began, the Steelers organization has been in a bit of a whirlwind. First, they moved on from both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. Now, with no solid quarterback to round out their four-QB plan, they’re left with one real option — drafting a young quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft. From that perspective, Colorado Buffaloes standout Shedeur Sanders has become the most talked-about QB1 candidate for the Steelers.

Rumors started to swirl around Shedeur regarding the Steelers after the Colorado QB dropped a big hint. He was on a podcast with Maxx Crosby, where Shedeur was asked who his picks would be for Mount Rushmore. And what he said was heavy. He first of all expressed that Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Rodgers, and Davante Adams would be his Mt. Rushmore picks.

But then Shedeur said, “Whoever the QB for DK Metcalf and George Pickens… whoever that is this year.” And if you’ve seen his X (formerly Twitter) account, you know how often he drops the word “legendary.” He even listed his top four receivers. And yes, both Metcalf and Pickens cut. And as he had private meetings with the Steelers and other team officials, it’s easy to imagine Shedeur in black and gold.

But here’s the twist — what if Aaron Rodgers enters the Steelers’ picture after the draft? Would he take the QB1 spot, or would Shedeur hold on to it? That’s the question hanging in the air. In the next few days, we’ll find out just how serious the Steelers are about Shedeur Sanders.
