The Steelers’ wide receiver room last season felt like a mixtape—some absolute bangers, but a few skips too. George Pickens had his highlight-reel moments, but his frustration bubbled over more than once. The rest of the group? Let’s just say they weren’t exactly striking fear into secondary. It was a season of flashes—big plays, drama, and inconsistency—all wrapped up in a unit that felt one piece away from being truly dangerous.

Now the offseason is here and Mike Tomlin and the Steelers are looking for a wideout on their roster who can lead the O-line along with Pickens. Go on, have your guesses. Well, after parting ways with Aaron Rodgers, the NY Jets can trade the veteran wide receiver, Devante Adams. On Monday, the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport shared an update on Adams on his official ‘X’ handle.

“The Jets are now taking calls on star WR Davante Adams, open to trading him prior to the start of the league year. No surprise with his $38.2M cap number,” he wrote in his post. “If they can’t get a deal, they are expected to release Adams, who could rejoin QB Aaron Rodgers with a new team.” Now, the big question: could the Steelers have interest?

Well, at this point, the Pittsburgh team is in dire need of a QB1 as well as a WR opposite Pickens. BUT! Pickens is entering the final year of his rookie contract, and the team has to make a call on his future. The kicker? The Steelers’ general manager, Omar Khan, confirmed on Tuesday last week that they’re planning to go forward with Pickens in 2025. With that being said, it’s almost certain that Pickens will be staying in Pittsburgh.

As for Adams, the guy is 32 years old and is exiting his prime. But still, the veteran WR tallied over 1,000 yards for the Jets and the Raiders in the last season. Now, here’s the deal: Mike Tomlin and his crew could trade for Adams, there’s no denying that. But they’ve to deal with his hefty contract.

Back in 2022, the Raiders handed Davante Adams a massive five-year, $140 million deal. Fast forward to 2025, and Adams is heading into year four of that contract, set to make a hefty $35.64 million. That’s a lot of cash for any team to take on, making a trade feel more like a long shot than a real possibility. But let’s say the Steelers somehow pull it off—then what?

Because the biggest question still looms: if Adams walks into that locker room, does he take over as WR1, or does Pickens fight to keep his crown? At this point, the odds are favoring Pickens considering the guy is younger and the Steelers would want to make use of his final year of contract.

What’s your perspective on:

Will George Pickens step up as WR1, or does Davante Adams take the spotlight in Pittsburgh?

Meanwhile, the WR isn’t their only issue to solve in this offseason. I mean, they’re still looking for a QB1 in 2025 considering Russell Wilson is all set to leave Pittsburgh.

Every day brings a new team for Russell Wilson

After months of QB debate, the Steelers Nation will finally get an official confirmation on the team’s starting quarterback for 2025 in this week. Is it Justin Fields or Russell Wilson? Or Mike Tomlin and the Steelers are going to surprise us with a new face. All questions will be answered this week. But one thing’s certain: if the team decides to go ahead with Fields, Wilson may join the New York Giants.

Yes! The Giants are lurking for a veteran QB this offseason and the rumors are pointing them to two veteran QBs: Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers. The reason’s pretty simple: the team’s looking for someone to lead who won a Super Bowl. However, according to Connor Hughes of SNY believes that Wilson is possibly going to land with the Giants.

“Russell Wilson is also someone whom the Giants have discussed. One league source believed him to be the player the Giants ultimately land,” Hughes wrote. Let’s say the Steelers sign Fields over Wilson—that means Wilson will hit the free agency market and can explore new teams. I mean, the Giants aren’t the only team looking for a QB, right?
