The Dallas Cowboys players were quick to talk smack after they barely managed to seal the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. If anything, Steel City’s 20-17 loss to the Cowboys just means they need to chase Davante Adams to the extreme ends of the earth. The Pittsburgh team came out with a total of 150 receiving yards, less than half of what the Cowboys have.
Before we get into this, let’s rewind back to George Pickens’ rowdy attitude. Jourdan Lewis had the ball in his hand and said something to the Steelers receiver. Pickens couldn’t keep his emotions under control and snatched his mouthpiece. Though Pickens was angry, his actions were uncalled for. What happened next might just have birthed a new rivalry in the league.
Jourdan Lewis, who had one tackle and a pass defended throughout the game, wasn’t afraid to call out George Pickens for his 26-yard game without scoring a single touchdown. Bobby Belt, who covers the Dallas Cowboys for 105.3 The Fan shared the video of the Cowboys CB walking around the Steelers facility, taking Pickens’ name in vain.

Lewis entered the facility, saw a camera, and called the Steelers receiver out by saying, “Pittsburgh need a receiver. George Pickens weak.” Of course, this was about Pickens’ scuffle with him. However, there were other shortcomings that the Steelers receiver showed, but that’s all related to the game. George Pickens was the most targeted receiver throughout the game but only caught 3 of the 7 passes intended for him. Again, without scoring a touchdown, he averaged 8.7 yards per reception.
What’s your perspective on:
Should the Steelers trade George Pickens for a fresh start, or is he worth the wait?
Have an interesting take?
Pickens was nonexistent in the second half. He had the only first-half Steelers catch as a wide receiver. Another problem with this equation was Justin Fields only completing 4 of his 9 passes in the first half. But it’s not just Pickens or Fields, who are struggling to take the ball to the end zone. A lot of other Steel City receivers have the same problem.
As mentioned earlier, the Steelers only had 150 receiving yards throughout the game. The whole receiver core was targeted 26 times and only 16 of those targets landed. Two receiving touchdowns on a prime-time game would make sense if the Steelers ran the ball. But only 92 rushing yards and no rushing TDs tell the opposite story.
Sports fans are same all around the world. They see inconsistencies in their team, and they voice them out. The Steelers fans are no exception. On the contrary, they are very brutal.
Steelers fans have just one thing to say to George Pickens
Pickens, despite being the Pittsburgh featured receiver, is 18 in the league for his 20 receptions. In 5 games that he’s played, he amassed 284 yards and also hasn’t scored a touchdown this season. He didn’t receive for more than 90 yards in any game, except for the 27-24 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. it’s gotten to a point where the fans don’t want him on the team anymore.
A fan went all caps in a post on X and wrote, “I AM SICK AND TIRED OF YOUR ATTITUDE #GeorgePickens YOU NEED TO GROW THE F–K UP YOULL NEVER BE A LEGEND WITH UR ATTITUDE BOY,” and later asserted, “TRADE GEORGE PICKENS.”

Another fan pointed out the cheap shot he took at the Dallas Cowboys cornerback. If it were up to the fan, they would trade the receiver for way less than 60 cents to a dollar. “I want George Pickens off the team. I’d trade him for a bag of peanuts,” wrote the fan on X.
Another fan quipped about an alternate reality for the Steelers, but sadly that’s not the case. His post on the social media platform said, “George Pickens is a baby back BI–H and Russell Wilson is this teams QB1. Trade Pickens PLEASE.” It should be apparent by now that Steel City wants George Pickens scratched from the roster.
But before you go anywhere, adjust yourself to the reality of people not liking Pickens for a while. “I hate George Pickens trade him,” another person said, channeling the same emotions. For one fan, though, adding a veteran like Davante Adams won’t fix their problems. But trading George Pickens might.

“Forget trading for Davante Adams, they can trade George Pickens away and start over,” the fan iterated on X. Like many others, one who said, “Hey just trade George Pickens @Steelers,” wasn’t chuffed at all. That was clear when he called the Steelers, “F—-ng clowns.”
The Pittsburgh team went home with a lot on their mind. While we don’t know what their future holds, we’re sure of one thing, Mike Tomlin will be brutally honest in the presser and the issue with George Pickens will come out in the media interaction for sure. Till then, many hope for Russell Wilson to be back on the field.
