Heading into Baltimore on Sunday, the Steelers need all the reinforcements they can get. Otherwise, it would be just another Lamar Jackson show after he dropped an MVP-esque performance against the Giants. But that is the Giants, which is probably the worst team in the NFL. Now, the Ravens have the Steelers to worry about, as they have their own concerns regarding outside linebacker TJ Watt.
After rolling his ankles, trying to bring down Eagles QB Jalen Hurts for the third time last week. The Steelers Nation thought they might have to play without their six-time Pro Bowler. However, building up to the Ravens clash, the Steelers continued to get positive updates on Watt’s injury. First, his X-rays came back negative, and the Steelers LB was just diagnosed with a lower-ankle sprain.
As the Steelers started preparing for Baltimore, Watt had a DNP status on Tuesday. But the very next day, he had limited practice. Now, after four days of ifs and buts. TJ Watt finally cleared the air on his availability on Saturday. As per 93.7 The Fan, Watt said it’s been a good week, and he feels good. The only thing that could still worry the Steelers is that Watt’s status remains a game decision. If positive signs continue to emerge out of the former NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

He might be present in Baltimore to help the Steelers keep hold of their grip in the AFC North Title race. Right now, the Steelers have a one-game advantage over their division foes. However, a win for the Ravens on Sunday could spice things up before the final two weeks in the NFL. As for Watt, it doesn’t look like he will let go of the opportunity to face the Ravens, against whom he has performed exceptionally.

TJ Watt’s domination over the Ravens
Watt has been a menace to the Ravens offense over the years. Even after his questionable status, the Ravens’ OC Todd Monken is not ready to get ahead of themselves. “It doesn’t really change for us. We assume Watt’s going to play. It’s much easier if he doesn’t. So, you react when he doesn’t, as opposed to assuming he won’t. We’ll expect him to play, and I’m sure he will.” As per the latest reports from Watt, he will probably be present in Baltimore. His 17 sacks over the years have practically terrorized the Ravens offense.
Even in their first meeting, Watt recorded a single sack on Jackson as the Steelers narrowly won 18-16. Now, for the season, Watt already has 11.5 sacks to his name. And that’s not where his numbers are limited. Watt also has 6 forced fumbles alongside 2 fumbles recovery after 15 weeks of the NFL. With 54 total tackles in his pocket, Watt will be a huge boost for the Steelers as they try to stop Lamar Jackson. The Steelers, as a whole, have been heavily impressed with their defense.

They have only allowed 18.3 points per game while remaining the NFL’s fifth-scoring defense as we head to the final few weeks. But injuries haven’t been a cause of concern for the Steelers LB. He started all of their 17 regular-season games last year. That brought him a fourth first-team All-Pro and his sixth Pro Bowl accolade in 2023. Even this year, he might win another as the Steelers try to wrap their division title on enemy grounds.
